Employee leaders should show proof of abolished posts: Spokesperson
SHIMLA-10 February, 2025A spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited said here today that it was not appropriate for Board employees to protest by wearing black badges and making unnecessary claim of abolishing posts in the Board. He clarified that no posts have been abolished instead only non-essential positions have been adjusted.
He said that few people were misleading the employees by spreading false information but the claim that few posts had been abolished was far away from the reality. If any post had been abolished, the employee leaders should provide official notification as proof.
The spokesperson also mentioned that one unit of the Uhal power project had begun generating electricity and the remaining two units will start production soon. Since the Board requires employees, there was no question of abolishing posts. This project would provide financial stability to the Board and a new division and additional posts would be created and the employees would be reassigned accordingly. He said that to improve services for the people of the state, the board needs field staff, such as T-Mates, who play a crucial role in electricity supply and such posts, would be filled as and when required and in-fact recruitment for T-Mates and other essential field staff will commence soon.
He further said that the primary role of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited was to provide affordable electricity to the people of the state and to achieve this, the Regulatory Commission has repeatedly instructed the Board to cut down unnecessary expenses. He said that by cutting down on such costs, the consumers of the state would benefit from lower electricity prices, which would be contributing to the overall development of the State.
