Cheating
A case FIR No. 100 U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in Police Station Sector 03, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Ritu D/o Ramesh Kumar R/o Ladwa, Distt. Kurukshetra, against Archana Batra, Aarti, and Amit of Auscanz Overseas Education Pvt. Ltd. (SCO 181-182, Sector 8C, Chandigarh). The complainant alleged that the accused fraudulently took ₹1.91 lakh from her for processing a USA study visa and later denied refunding the amount when the visa did not arrive. Investigation is in progress.
A case FIR No. 99 U/S 420, 468, 471, 120B IPC & 24 Immigration Act has been registered in Police Station Sector 03, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Sidiksha Dureja W/o Anil Kumar R/o Village Uncha Chandana, District Yamunanagar, Haryana, against Waris Chauhan and his associates Manjot, Kamal, Nitesh, and Karna of VSS (Visa Service Centre), Sector 8C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated her of ₹9,80,040 in the name of securing a spouse visa for Australia. When questioned, they allegedly abused and threatened her. Investigation is ongoing.
A case FIR No. 155 U/S 420, 506, 120B IPC has been registered in Police Station Sector 17, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Komalpreet Kaur R/o Village Jaspal Nagar, Sultanwind Road, Amritsar. The complainant alleged that Vikash Sharma of "My Immigration Solution" (SCO-123, 124, Sector 17C, Chandigarh) along with her associates fraudulently took ₹16,74,000 from her for securing a visa to Canada. Despite making the payments, they neither processed the visa nor refunded the amount. The accused allegedly threatened her when she demanded her money back. Investigation is in progress.
A case FIR No. 72 U/S 420, 406 IPC has been registered in Police Station Maloya, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Parveen Kumar, a field executive at Ashu Sales Distributor of Airtel, against Vikas and Manoj Sharma, owners of "Lala Mobile". The complainant alleged that the accused committed fraud amounting to ₹8,55,368. The complainant used to visit their shop and deposit money into their retailer account as part of business dealings related to Airtel services. He also took his Samsung Z Fold 4 mobile phone (worth ₹1,49,000) for placing a glass cover but failed to return it.
Theft
A case FIR No. 101 U/S 137 (2) BNS has been registered at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Sandeep Kumar R/o House No. 2, Room No. 14, Huda Farm, Shastri Nagar, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that during the night of 04/09/2024, while he was sleeping with his family and the door of his room was left open, an unknown person entered and stole four mobile phones. Investigation is ongoing.
Dog bite
A case FIR No. 142 U/S 291 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector
39, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Rati Sharma R/o House No. 2886, Sector 38/C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that on 06-09-2024, she was bitten by a pet dog belonging to Jatin Sharma and his wife Jaspreet Kaur, who reside at the same address.
