Chandigarh,06.10.24- In wake of empowering widows, the monthly ration distribution program being organized by Balramji Das Tandon Charitable Foundation is into the fifth year, wherein today on Sunday in village Khuda Ali Sher, a total of 63 widows were benefited with one month ration kit. This program was launched by philanthropist, BJP Co-Incharge Himachal Pradesh & Former BJP President Chandigarh Sanjay Tandon, the son of Late Shri Balramji Das Tandon in memory of his father.

Foundation President Sanjay Tandon said that a ration card is issued to the widow family and 10 kg Flour, Parmal 32 (Rice)- 1.5 Kg, Sugar- 1.5 Kg, Chana Dal- 2 kg , Mustard oil- 1 litre, Salt- 1 Kg, A-Lyf Red Tea- 250gm , Haldi- 100 gm, Mirch- 100 gm, Dhania (P)- 100 gm, Jeera-100 gm, Achar-200 gm, Sabzi Pakoda-01 Pkt, Bath Soap-02 Nos, Clinic Plus Shampoo- 100ml, Babool Paste -01 Nos, Tooth Brush- 02 Nos, Milk Powder- 500 gm, Naulakha (Cloth Washing Soap)- 01Kg, Dalia- 500gm, Nutri- 400gm, 5 kg Potatoes and 2 kg Onions are provided to them.

He informed that the count of beneficiaries had increased to 89 during the last four years, but now after reverification the ration distribution to some widows has been stopped as their children have attained the age of 18 years and more and have started earning, whereas some of the widows have started working and are earning independently, so in order to give chance to the ones who are still finding it difficult to make both ends meet and with the aim of empowering these women, some entries have been deleted and some new enteries have been made. He said that in the near future, foundation will continue to strengthen this scheme by adding more widows under this program. A total of 3942 widows were given monthly ration kits from January 2020 till date by the foundation.
A free medical checkup camp was organized wherein the beneficiaries as well as other people present on the occasion were given free consultation and medicine during this camp.
