A Case FIR No. 06 U/S 68(1)B PP Act 2007 has been registered in Police Station Sarangpur Chandigarh against Raju R/o # 884 EWS Colony Dhanas Chandigarh on 12.01.2025 for drinking and creating nuisance at public place. The accused was arrested from near Moni Service Station Toga road Dhanas Chandigarh and later on accused bailed out. Investigation of this is in progress.

Two arrested in theft Case

A Case FIR No.07 U/S 306,317(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 17 Chandigarh on the complaint of Tanish Sood R/o # SCO No. 13 Sector 17 Chandigarh against Amandeep Singh R/o # 2236 Vikash Nagar Mauli Jagran Chandigarh who try to theft T- Shirt from Complainant shop. During investigation accused arrested. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 05 U/S 305(D) has been registered in Police Station Sarangpur Chandigarh on the complainant of Pritam Chand Dogra R/o # Sanatan Dharam Mandir Milk Colony Dhanas Chandigarh against unknown person who stolen one Copper Snake, one Copper pots garhviyo from above temple on 0101.2025. During the Course of investigation accused Aman R/o # Jhuggi no 3671 Sector 25 Chandigarh was arrested. Investigation of this case is in progress.

One arrested in Robbery Case

A Case FIR No 11 U/S 309(6),3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 36 Chandigarh on the complaint of Umesh Kumar R/o # 2225 Sector 37 Chandigarh against unknown person, complainant stated that he and his friends Gaurav, Nitin came after exercise from Muscle Arena, Sector 36, Chandigarh. Some unknown person came and attacked them with sharp weapon during incident gold chain of Gaurav and Nitin has been snatched. During course of investigation, accused Bobby has been arrested in this case. Investigation of this case is in progress.

One arrested with fake number plate

Chandigarh Police arrested Deepak R/o # 3174 Mauli Jagran Complex Chandigarh age-25 years while using fake activa number CH01BC-9922 stolen activa (original number CH01BC-9527). In this regard, a case FIR No. 13, U/S 317(2), 341(2) BNS has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A Case FIR No. 11 U/S 303(2) has been registered in Police Station Sector 31 Chandigarh on the complainant of Krishan R/o # 652 Village Hallo Majra Chandigarh against unknown person who stolen 02 batteries of E- Rickshaw from in front of complainant house on the intervening night 11/12.01.2025. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Attempt to snatch

A Case FIR No. 12 U/S 304(2),62,351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 31 Chandigarh on the complainant of Vishal R/o # 659 Village Hallo Majra Chandigarh against unknown person, complainant stated that he reached near ESIC Hospital Ind./Area PH-02 Chandigarh two activa riders from behind him, who were not wearing helmet tried to snatched his phone but he was holding his phone tightly that’s why they did not succeed in snatching his phone, he saw their faces and he noted down the activa colour black and number PB30S-0989, after that both the boys threatened him and ran away. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Under the supervision of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT and close guidance of Ms. Sita Devi, CPS, DSP/DCC and Insp. Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, the team of District Crime Cell got a major success by arresting four snatchers/robbers wanted in robbery/snatching cases in UT Chandigarh/adjoining areas.

BRIEF OF CASE:-

Case FIR No. 92 dated 29.12.2024 U/s 304 BNS added 317(2), 3(5) BNS and 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS- 19, UT Chandigarh.

This case was registered on the complaint of Sh. Jeevan Joshi S/o Shiv Dutt Joshi, R/o H.No. 35, Village Kaimbwala, Chandigarh who reported that he is working as waiter in Toy Hotels, Sector-34, Chandigarh and on the intervening night of 28/29-12-2024, after finishing his duty he was going to his house, in village Kaimbwala Chandigarh on cycle. At about 10:30 PM, when he reached on dividing road Sector-19/27, 04 boys on 02 motorcycles came from back side and stopped him and snatched his mobile and purse containing SBI ATM Card, Aadhar Card, PAN Card and DL and all fled away from the spot.

On 11.01.2025, the team of District Crime Cell, Sector-24 Chandigarh apprehended & arrested the 02 gang members i.e. Subhash Bharti @ Nikhil S/o Mahesh Bharti R/o # Near Shiv Mandir, Nada Road, Naya Gaon, Distt SAS Nagar, PB Age-23 Years and Gautam Kathak @ Danish S/o Sonu Kathak R/o # 600/1, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon, Distt SAS Nagar, PB, Age-18 Years from Sector-25 Chandigarh and recovered 01 Hunter Motorcycle used in the crime alongwith snatched Purse & documents. Police remand of both accused obtained and during further investigation, on 12.01.2025 the remaining 02 gang members i.e. Keshav Gopal @ Happy S/o Pappu Ram, R/o Village Khuia Kheda, PS- Abohar, Distt. Fazilka (PB), Age- 18 Years and Karanpreet Singh S/o Bobby Singh, R/o Village Koharwala, PS- Kotkapura Distt. Faridkot (PB), Age-21 Years were also arrested in Sector-24 Chandigarh and from their possession the other motorcycle Splendor alongwith snatched documents/mobile of complainant have also been recovered from their possession. During investigation, total 24 Mobile phones snatched from Chandigarh/adjoining areas, 02 motorcycles and 02 Kamanidar knives recovered from them. Verification is being made from

Modus Operandi: - All accused were working as Patient care in PGI Chandigarh. After finishing their duty at upto 8PM they all made snatchings/robberies during night hours on 02 motorcycles i.e. Hunter and Splendor to spend luxury life.
