Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police apprehended Jagmohan Singh R/o # 42 Mauli Jagran Part-2, Sunder Nagar Chandigarh age-45 year and Deepak Kumar R/o # 124 , Shivalik Vihar Naya Gaon SAS Nagar (Pb) age-31 year, while they were consuming liquor and creating nuisance near park back side # 38, Sec-11 Chandigarh on 16.01.2025. In this regard, a case FIR No. 04 U/S 68-1(B) PP Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later, they were released on bail.

One arrested in Quarrel/stabbing case

A Case FIR No. 10 U/s, 118(1),3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sarangpur Chandigarh on the complaint of Gaurav Singh age-19 yrs, R/o # 1809, Small Flats, Dhanas, against Karan Pritam @ lady, Topla and Jamna @ Jamuna, they stabbed the complainant with a knife near RC 1 School, Dhanas on 15.01.2025. Due to this complainant got injured and admitted in GMSH- 16 by PCR staff. During the course of investigation, Pritam @ lady, (age-18 years) R/o # 1001 Kachi Colony Dhanas has been arrested in this case. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 07 U/s, 115(2), 118(1), 126, 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station 34 Chandigarh on the complaint of Sahil R/o # 1191, Sec-44/B Chandigarh age-23 yrs Daljeet Singh R/o Vill- Mallour, PO- Chourmastpur, PS- Nagal, Tehsil & Distt- Ambala Hr age- 29 yrs, Simranjit Singh R/o Vill- Mallour, PO- Chourmastpur, PS-Nagal, Tehsil & Distt- Ambala Hr age-26 yrs and Harshpreet Singh R/o VPO- Bhanokheri, Distt-Ambala PS- Sadar, age- 21 yrs, they all attacked to the complainant’s head with sharp weapon in parking near Flat No. 1191, Sec-44B Chandigarh on 15-01-2025. Due to this complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32 for treatment. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 08 U/s, 115(2), 118(1), 126, 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station 34 Chandigarh on the complaint of Daljeet Singh R/o Vill- Mallour, PO- Chourmastpur, PS- Nagal, Tehsil & Distt- Ambala Hr age- 29 against Sahil R/o # 1191, Sec-44/B Chandigarh age-23 yrs yrs, Ajay Lohan R/o # 1191 Sector 44B, Chandigarh (age-20 years) 3. Rahul Raperia R/o # 48 Adarsh Colony Hisar Cantt, TCP-2 Distt- Hisar (Hry) age 20 yrs. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Theft

A Case FIR No. 08 U/S 305(5), 331 (3) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-39 Chandigarh on the complaint of Girish Kumar R/o # 1009/1 Sec-39B Chandigarh who stated that he had gone to his office at 10.30 am and when he came back home at around 6.00 pm, he found the lock of the main gate broken and the lock of the cupboard (almirah) was also broken and when he checked, he found 2 gold rings, 1 diamond ring, 1 pair diamond tops, 1 pair tops gold, 1 diamond nose pin, 1 pair payal silver stolen by unknown person. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Accident

A Case FIR No. 08 U/S 281 BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-26 Chandigarh on the complaint of Bhavnish R/o # 275, Sec-26, Pkl Hry against Jai Karan R/o Vill. Nepewala Tehsil- Narvana Distt- Jind Hr, age-30 yrs, who drive I-10 car no. HR32G3922 and hit to the complainant Honda city car no. HR40-0016 on 16-01-2025 at near Nari Niketan light point Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Vs. Union of India & ORs" was organized in Multimedia Centre, at Recruit Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH, 17.01.2025- Under the guidance of Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav, IPS, DGP/UT, Chandigarh and under the supervision of Sh. Manjeet, IPS, SP/Headquarters & Training, U.T., Chandigarh, today i.e. on 17.01.2025, one day workshop on “Prohibition of Child Marriage Act and Child Rights”- directions pronounced by Hon’ble Apex Court, in Writ Petition (C) No.1234 of 2017 titled as "Society for Enlighten and Voluntary Action & Anr. Vs. Union of India & ORs" was organized in Multimedia Centre, at Recruit Training Centre, Sector-26, Chandigarh, wherein designated Child Welfare Police Officers and POSCO Officers of all Sub-divisions and other Investigation Officers, total 41 numbers attended this training program.

Sh Ashok Rohila, Ld.Dy.DA/Legal (PHQ) in presence of Insp. Punam Dilawari, Chief Law Instructor delivered the lecture to the participants and made them aware about the Legal Enforcement, Judicial Measures, Community Involvement, Awareness Campaigns, Educational and Social Support, Monitoring and Accountability, Technology-Driven initiatives for Reporting Child Marriage and funding and resources- of “Prohibition of child Marriage Act-2006”, in-length. Sh Ashok Rohila, cleared the objectives of this Act and aware all the participants with each of the provisions/sections of this act in detail. Besides providing lecture, he has also discussed how the provision practically works with number of related examples as well as Court judgments. Sh Ashok Rohila, Ld.Dy.DA/Legal also answered to the queries of the participants.

The main objective of this training program is to train and improve professional excellence, efficiency, knowledge and skills of all Child Welfare Police Officers and POSCO Officers of all Sub-divisions and other Investigation Officers of Chandigarh Police for the effective implementation of “Prohibition of Child Marriage Act-2006 with Child rights”.

A dedicated team of Police Station Sarangpur under the close supervision of Insp. Harminderjit Singh SHO PS Sarangpur achieved major success to work out the cases of vehicle thefts by taking accused Rohan @ Khata s/o Manipal

CHANDIGARH, 17.01.25-Keeping in view of increase in property crime cases in the city, as per the instruction /direction of senior officers Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPC, W/SSP UT Chandigarh & Sh. Udaypal SDPO/Central a dedicated team of Police Station Sarangpur under the close supervision of Insp. Harminderjit Singh SHO PS Sarangpur achieved major success to work out the cases of vehicle thefts by taking accused Rohan @ Khata s/o Manipal r/o House No. 1389/B EWS Colony, Dhanas, UT, Chandigarh Age 18½ Years on production warrant and police remand for one day.

During the investigation and interrogation of the accused five cases of theft of PS Sarangpur has been solved and total 8 vehicles (two wheelers) & one Gas cylinder have been recovered from his possession.
