Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted special traffic awareness session for delivery partners of Swiggy at Traffic Lines, Sector-29, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 22,January 2025: As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month-2025, the Chandigarh Traffic Police organized a special traffic awareness session for Swiggy delivery partners at the Traffic Auditorium, Traffic & Sec. Lines, Sector-29, Chandigarh. The initiative was conducted under the leadership of Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav, Director General of Police, and Sh. Sumer Partap Singh, SSP/Security & Traffic, with the supervision of Sh. Lakshay Pandey, DSP/Road Safety & Development. The session aimed to enhance road safety knowledge and promote responsible driving behavior among the delivery partners.

The session was attended by over 120 Swiggy delivery partners and was conducted in the presence of Sh. Neeraj Sarna, Inspector/Traffic Admin, Sh. Surinder Kumar, Inspector/Traffic South-East, along with other Traffic Police staff. The session was led by Dr. Parvesh Sharma, Inspector I/C-CTP, ASI Sanjay Kumar, and other Traffic Police officials, ensuring that the delivery partners understood crucial safety norms and guideline regarding helmet usage, consequences of reckless driving, and parking etiquette. The session also focused on essential road safety rules, including parking in designated areas, giving way to emergency vehicles, maintaining lane discipline, and switching off engines at red lights to reduce pollution. The importance of wearing BIS-certified helmets and seat belts, pasting of reflectors on helmets and vehicles was also emphasized. The session was well supported by the Mr. Shiva Khutail, Senior Manager IR & Liaison, Mr. Mohit Gupta Assistant Manager Liaison, Mr. Jitender Singh Operations Manager from Swiggy team. A road safety quiz was also held and trophies were given for best participation to Parkash, Deepak Kumar, Amit Kumar, Amar Chandra, Dharmendra & Kartik.

Chandigarh Traffic Police in collaboration with Times of India Group spread awareness among road users in the City supported by St. Solider School Sector-28 Chandigarh and Indian Oil Co.

Chandigarh, 22nd January 2025: In a significant step towards ensuring safer roads, Chandigarh Traffic Police in collaboration with Times of India Group launched an awareness campaign among road users in the City supported by St. Solider School Sector-28 Chandigarh and Indian Oil Co as part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month-2025. The initiative was conducted under the leadership of Sh. Surendra Singh Yadav, Director General of Police, and Sh. Sumer Partap Singh, SSP/Security & Traffic, with the supervision of Sh. Lakshay Pandey, DSP/Road Safety & Development. The campaign aims to address the rising concerns of road accidents and promote responsible driving practices among residents of Chandigarh.

The campaign targeted the key locations in Chandigarh such as Transport Light Point, Hallomajra Chowk, Piccadilly Chowk, and Matka Chowk, where approximately 1,000 citizens were educated about the importance of road safety. The initiative was led by Dr. Parvesh Sharma, Inspector I/C-CTP, along with the awareness team and traffic police officials. Key partners in the campaign included Ms. Anisha Ghuman, Principal of St. Solider School, Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Divisional Retail Sales Head of Indian Oil, and Mr. Amitoj Singh of the Times of India Group, along with their respective staff and members. The campaign featured road safety literature, banners, and placards to raise awareness, and a Road Safety Exhibition Van was set up at each location. Additionally, a Road Safety Exhibition Van was also set up at all the event places by the Chandigarh Traffic Police, showcasing real-life examples of road safety through videos and displays.
