CUH student awarded first position in International Conference

MAHENDERGARH, 30.01.25-Ms. Deepika, Research Scholar from Department of Nutrition Biology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh working under the supervision of Dr. Anita Kumari, Assistant Professor, awarded first position for oral presentation for presenting her research findings entitled “3T3-L1 cell line-based anti-diabetic potential of local and improved AHK-119 variety of Kachri: Utilization of a medicinal crop as a functional food constituent”, part of Ph.D. thesis. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University congratulated and motivated the student as well as supervisor to continue the research work with the same intensity.
This exchange of scientific knowledge took place in the International Conference on “Recent advances in food science & technology: a way forward” at University of Horticulture Sciences, Bagalkot, Karnataka, India held from 22-24th January, 2025. The presented work was a cumulative effort of the co-authors; Prof. Surender Singh, Department of Microbiology and Dr. Anita Kumari, Department of Nutrition Biology. Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Dean SIAS ; Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Dean Research, and Director R&D Cell; Prof. Neelam Sangwan, and Prof. Vikas Beniwal, Head, Microbiology also congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the authors for performing an interdisciplinary, applied, and significant research on an upcoming future superfood: Kachri. The authors revealed that Kachri, an underutilized fruit crop (UFC) is a sustainable solution to manage diabetes mellitus and other non-communicable disorders. Thus, the promotion of Kachri in terms of production and utilization in the form of functional food products may help in reducing the burden of health, nutrition, and economic security for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, & 3). Prof. Kanti Prakash Sharma, Head, Department of Nutrition Biology also congratulated the whole team and motivated the young researcher to continue carrying out such visionary research work and present the same for scientific exchange at regional, national, and international level.

Two-day exhibition on indigenous products started at CUH

MAHENDERGARH, 30.01.25-A two-day exhibition of indigenous goods started from Thursday in Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh with District Mahendragarh Khadi Gramodyog Karyakarta Sangh, Narnaul. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar. Regarding this exhibition organized with the efforts of the Estate and General Administration Section and Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that this exhibition of indigenous goods is an effort to increase respect and acceptance of indigenous goods among students, researchers, teachers, non-teaching staff. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us towards the nation that we adopt indigenous goods and cooperate in realizing the vision of Atamnirbhar Bharat. On this occasion, the first lady of the University, Prof. Sunita Srivastava and Prof. Suneel Kumar Registrar were also present.
On this occasion, Prof. Suneel Kumar said that this exhibition is an effort to make public utility indigenous products easily available to various stakeholders of the University. Prof. Nand Kishore, Proctor of the University said that the clothes and other products available in the exhibition are completely manufactured by indigenous producers and have been developed with environmental friendly technology. Sh. Balwant Sharma, Secretary, District Mahendragarh Khadi Gramodyog Karyakarta Sangh, Narnaul expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar and Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar and said that through the exhibition, it has been possible to make Khadi products reach various participants of the University
