MAHENDERGARH, 08.03.25-The 11th Convocation of Haryana Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, was held on 8th March 2025 on the occasion of International Women's Day. On this occasion, Prof. Neelima Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Mamta Yadav, Member of Haryana Public Service Commission, and Mr. Nikhil Mathur from Pidilite Industries Ltd. were the distinguished guests. Several distinguished dignitaries were also present at the ceremony.
Prof. Neelima Gupta extended her best wishes to all the degree recipients, and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and contribute positively to the society. She said that the knowledge gained in the University needs to be best applied in the chosen fields. She also said that the knowledge gained should also be best utilised for serving the society to become the responsible citizen. She also emphasized on the importance of education in shaping the future of oneself, family, society and nation. She urged the students to use their knowledge to make a significant contribution to the nation.
Distinguished guest Ms. Mamta Yadav addressed the students and emphasized on the importance of the educational institute in preparing the students for the society and nation to contribute in various fields. She also shared how Haryana youth has been an instrumental factor in its development in various fields. Mr. Nikhil Mathur of Pidilite Industeies Ltd. encouraged the students to stay ahead in their respective fields by embracing the new ideas and solutions.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, presented an overview of the University's achievements and also welcomed all the dignitaries, guests, parents, staff and students. He congratulated all the students and researchers who received their degrees, stating that this day marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar also congratulated the faculty for their hard work and dedication. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, acknowledged the vital role of women in the development of India, expressing pride in the fact that nearly 50% of the students enrolled at the University are female. He further stated that the youth have a significant role to play in building a developed India, and this can be achieved by becoming "Karmyogis."
The Vice Chancellor also shared the University's impressive progress, stating that the faculty members have published more than 2365 research papers in the Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals, and the university’s h-index of 65. He said that the University is currently working on 31 research projects in collaboration with many national and international institutions. In addition to this, the University has established metro labs, EV labs, and 5G labs for research development. The University has received a grant of ₹273.47 crore from the central government for resource development. Furthermore, the University was awarded the "Emerging University of the Year" award by FICCI in 2024. The University has also introduced three distance education programs, offering students the opportunity to connect with the University through correspondence courses, in addition to the regular students.
The convocation ceremony was attended by members of the University’s Executive Council, Academic Council, and Court, as well as Deans of various faculties, Registrar, the Controller of Examinations, Finance Officer, University Librarian, faculty, staff, students, and researchers from various departments of the University.
Degrees were conferred upon 1426 students and 49 students got Gold Medals.
