CM lay Foundation Stones of Rs. 30.9 crore in Shahpur
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stones of several key development projects worth Rs. 30.9 crore in the Shahpur assembly segment of Kangra district. These include the construction of a link road from Laleta to Banu Mahadev at a cost of Rs. 11 crore, a link road from NH-154 to Dhanotu via Bad Basti for Rs. 4.41 crore, and the upgradation of Bhanala to Rulehr Road with an investment of Rs. 19.86 crore. Additionally, the Rirkmaar to Kutharna Road will be upgraded at a cost of Rs. 5.47 crore, and a pavilion block will be constructed at the stadium in Rait (Chambi) for Rs. 1.16 crore. He also performed puja of Maharana Pratap Bhawan being constructed by Rajput Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving road connectivity, boosting local development, and enhancing sports infrastructure. He said that strengthening the rural road network remains a priority to ensure better accessibility for residents. He further stated that these initiatives are part of the government’s vision to enhance infrastructure, promote economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
MLA Shahpur Kewal Singh Pathania expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for these development projects and said that the projects would significantly contribute to improving the lives of the people of the area. He said that the Chief Minister is aware of the challenges faced by the people and the state government remains dedicated to address these issues through pragmatic and result-oriented policies.

Signs of State’s economic improvement: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stone of the Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Memorial Building in the Shahpur Assembly Constituency. On this occasion, he stated that the Congress government is a government of the common people. “We are making policy changes to ensure good governance. Change comes with challenges, but we are facing every challenge with determination,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that world-class infrastructure is being developed for students in rural areas to prepare them for future challenges. A Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School will also be established in the Shahpur Assembly Constituency shortly.
He further stated that the state government is improving not only education but also the health sector. Over the past two years, by curbing corruption, the government has generated additional revenue of Rs. 2,600 crore, which is being used for welfare schemes of the people. He emphasized that signs of economic improvement are becoming evident and that through these changes, the state government is working towards making Himachal Pradesh self-reliant.
Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania remarked that Maharana Pratap was a protector of all communities. He also announced a contribution of Rs. 10 lakh for the construction of the Maharana Pratap Memorial Building and acknowledged the contribution of the Rajput Kalyan Sabha in social welfare.
On this occasion, the President of Rajput Kalyan Sabha, Thakur Kuldeep Singh, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for attending the event.
