One arrested under Excise Act
A Case FIR No. 38 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act has been reported at PS 39 against a woman resident of Sector-56, Chandigarh, aged 37 years, who was apprehended from House No. 6401, Sector-56, Chandigarh, on 07-03-2025 at around 11:00 AM. Police recovered one box (48 nips) of Jamila Santra and one box (48 nips) of Tango Santra desi liquor from her possession . Investigation of the case is in progress.
Three accused arrested in stabbing case
A Case FIR No. 29 u/s 118(1), 351(2), 351(3), 3(5) BNS has been reported at Police Station Sarangpur on the complainant of Abhishek, resident of 24 C, who was stabbed near Tile Ghar Marble Shop, Sarangpur, on 07-03-2025. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GH-16 for treatment. The accused have been identified as Daljeet Singh (32), resident of Patiala; Sehvej (22), resident of District Bijnore, Uttar Pradesh; and Mohamed Amir (21), resident of Bijnore, Uttar Pradesh. All accused have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A Case FIR No. 33 u/s 3(5), 304(2) BNS has been reported at police station 11 on the complaint of Upender Mandal, resident of Dasmesh Nagar, Nayagaon, Mohali, Punjab. According to the complaint, an unknown person snatched ₹8,000 from him near Lake Dhanas on 04-03-2025. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 47 u/s 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B IPC & 24 Immigration Act has been reported at PS 36 on the complaint of lady resident of Ludhiana, along with 30 other complainants. They have alleged that Rajdeep Singh, resident of Phase-7, Mohali, Punjab, and Shally Sharma, associated with Angad Info Overseas Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., located at SCO No. 483-484, 1st Floor, Sector-35C, Chandigarh, fraudulently took a sum of ₹6,81,000 from them on the pretext of sending them abroad but failed to fulfill their promises. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A Case FIR No. 48 u/s 281, 125B BNS has been reported at PS 36 on the complaint of Hardyal Singh, resident of Sector-49, Chandigarh, aged 71 years. He was allegedly hit by a Punjab Roadways bus (registration number PB-04AE-2167), driven by Sukhchain Singh, resident of Village Dal Singh Wala, District Faridkot, Punjab, near ISBT Sector-43 on 04-03-2025 at around 9:00 AM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
