First Meeting of MCC Apni Mandi & Day Market Committee held

Chandigarh, April 16:- The first meeting of the Apni Mandi & Day Market Committee of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Lakhvir Singh. The meeting was attended by other committee members, including Sh. Yogesh Dhingra, Sh. Gurpreet Singh, Sh. Manaur and Sh. Naresh Panchal along with concerned officials of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh and Punjab Mandi Board.

Key Decisions Taken during the meeting:

· The committee members discussed and decided to revise the daily rate per vendor block from Rs. 100/- (including GST) to Rs. 200/- (excluding GST) for each day market site. This decision will be recommended to the General House for approval.

· The committee members decided to regularly monitor the number of sites allocated to vendors and the actual number of vendors present in each Apni Mandi and Day Market.

· The committee directed the Enforcement department to conduct encroachment drives and remove colored lights (red, green, yellow, etc.) and colored umbrellas used by vendors within their blocks.

· The committee directed to the Sanitation department to ensure proper cleaning of the Apni Mandi and day market areas after closure. Additionally, they were directed to issue challans to vendors using plastic bags and conduct awareness drives not to use plastic bags.

First Meeting of Environment & City Beautification Committee held

Chandigarh, April 16:- The first meeting of the Environment & City Beautification Committee of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of Gurpreet Singh.

The meeting was attended by other committee members, including Sh. Jasbir Singh (Sr. Deputy Mayor), Sh. Maheshinder Singh, Sh. Jasmanpreet Singh, Sh. Hardeep Singh, Smt. Prem Lata, Sh. Jasbir Singh, Sh. Umesh Ghai along with concerned officials of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.
