Chandigarh, April 20, 2025:Continuing its dedicated efforts toward social welfare, the NGO Naufal Ek Umeed organized the wedding of an underprivileged and orphaned girl, Sukriti Taneja, in a heartfelt ceremony held today in Amritsar. The wedding was solemnized through the traditional Anand Karaj ceremony in the presence of the holy Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
The event was attended by the organization’s President Sukhdev Singh, Trustee Gurmeet Singh, and other senior members. Trustee Gurmeet Singh informed that the NGO bore all expenses related to the wedding and extended best wishes to the newlyweds for a prosperous future.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh highlighted the NGO’s longstanding commitment to supporting the underprivileged. Naufal Ek Umeed has successfully facilitated the weddings of over 400 economically disadvantaged girls to date.
Beyond matrimonial support, the organization is actively involved in a range of community services. These include free eye check-ups, distribution of medicines and spectacles, eye surgeries, and the daily preparation of langar (community meals) for approximately 8,000 to 10,000 people at the PGI Gurudwara in Chandigarh. The NGO also provides accommodation facilities for families accompanying patients undergoing treatment at PGI.
