CHANDIGARH, 26.01.25-26th January 2025: As the nation celebrated the 76th Republic Day, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, joined in the festivities with a deep sense of national pride and enthusiasm. The school marked the day with a blend of patriotism, recognition of excellence, and a seamless transition of leadership by organising its Annual Prize Distribution and Investiture Ceremony on the same day.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Justice Mrs. Ritu Bahri, Former Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court, as the Chief Guest. She was joined by Shri R.K. Saboo, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra; Shri Madhukar Malhotra, Honorary Secretary; Mrs. Vineeta Arora, Director Education cum Senior Principal; Mrs. Inderpreet Kaur, Principal of Bhavan Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh; and Mrs. Kunika Sharma, Principal of the Junior Wing. Parents and other dignitaries also attended the celebrations, adding to the grandeur of the event.

The festivities began with the ceremonial flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, followed by a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The school choir set a solemn tone with a prayer that sought blessings for the nation and its future.

A pivotal moment of the event was the Investiture Ceremony, where leadership was passed on to the new Senior School Cabinet. Outgoing School Captains Arushi Ahuja and Naryani Khanna, relinquished their duties with grace, delivering heartfelt valedictory speeches that resonated with gratitude and nostalgia. The School Flag was handed over to the new team, led by Ekamdeep Singh and Ayera Kathuria, symbolizing a fresh chapter of leadership.

Award for Self-Determination and Motivation. The K.J. Khosla Memorial Award for the promotion of Sanskrit was presented to Jasner Singh Sodhiof Class IXA, and for Leadership was awarded to Manya Prabhaker of XIIA2. The BOSS (Bhavan’s Old Students’ Society) Award for Excellence in Character went to Atharv Salwan of XIIC2 and Harit Khattar of Class XIIB1.

Adding to the day’s significance, the Chief Guest, Honorable Justice Mrs. Ritu Bahri and Shri R. K. Saboo unveiled the School Year Book 2025, a vibrant compilation of the school’s activities, brimming with students’ creativity and imagination.

In his address, Shri Saboo thanked the Chief Guest and commended the students for their accomplishments, urging them to carry forward their dedication and always cherish their alma mater with gratitude.

The Chief Guest expressed her delight on being the part of the ceremony and took the opportunity to congratulate the prize winners, their proud parents and teachers. She motivated them to continue with their good work and remember their alma mater with gratitude. The celebration concluded on a high note, leaving everyone inspired by the spirit of patriotism, leadership, and excellence that Bhavan Vidyalaya continues to nurture.
