Dehradun 19 Aug, 2021:- Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj held a meeting with officials on Thursday to develop Tehri as a world-class tourist destination. A presentation was presented during the session highlighting the potential of the area for holistic development covering all the aspects of tourism.

Focusing on the development of religious places, the consultancy firm proposed the plans for renovation and development of Market façade, Meditation Park, Amusement Park, Spice Park, Adventure Park, Eco Glamping, Cluster Homestay, Boat Station Jetties and Sculpture Garden. Along with this many other works including the operation of Hop on Hop Off buses, Development of Flea Market was also proposed during the meeting.

Adding more to this, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said, “Tourism is an important source of economy in the state. This is the only source of employment and livelihood of lakhs of people in the state. We are continuously working to promote adventure tourism, eco-tourism, wellness tourism and homestays in Uttarakhand. The development work proposed in Tehri will surely be beneficial in future."

He further suggested to involve stakeholder consultancy for the development work in Tehri.

Additional Chief Executive Officer Yugal Kishore Pant, Director infrastructure Lt. Deepak Khanduri, Additional Director Vivek Singh Chauhan, Additional Director Poonam Chand, Senior Research Officer SS Samant, Deputy Director Yogendra Kumar Gangwar, District Tourism Development Officer Atul Bhandari, were present during the session.
