Ludhiana 07-06-2024-The NCC Cadets of 1 Pb R & V SQN NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana celebrated the World Environment Day by carrying out the Tree Plantation Drive and also making posters on the theme of Save Environment for the awareness of the general public.
The Cadets planted saplings in the NCC Unit Premises and every cadet vowed to take the responsibility of the tree planted by that particular cadet. Lt. Col. Anshul Reothia, Officer Commanding apprised the cadets that only planting the tree is not their responsibility but the cadets need to nurture it with proper watering at the right time.
Capt. Nittin Dev Singh encouraged the cadets to plant more and more trees to save our planet as there is extensive deforestation going on which is leading to less rainfall, increase in the temperature of the planet and melting of the glaciers.
Lt. P.P. Dubey, Associate NCC Officer exhorted cadets to be responsible citizens and propagate the general public also to plant more and more trees.
The NCC Unit informed that the cadets made beautiful posters to motivate general public and spread awareness on the World Environment Day on how a small gesture of planting a sapling can really help in saving our planet and we can contribute in making a better place for coming generations.
Lt. Col. Anshul Reothia, Officer Commanding, Capt. Nittin Dev Singh and Lt. P.P. Dubey, Associate NCC Officers and whole PI staff of the unit motivated the students to indulge in such activities and praised their effort in this scorching summer heat.
Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean COVS appreciated the efforts of the Unit and the cadets and offered full support in future endeavours.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor lauded the cadets and emphasized their role in Nation building and as a responsible citizens they should propagate such things to spread awareness among general public. He also congratulated the Unit Staff in carrying out such activities and motivating the cadets.
