Ludhiana 21 June 2024-Around 200 NCC cadets of 1 Pb R&V Squadron Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day with full enthusiasm at the NCC unit premises and at Annual Training Camp. Around 100 cadets performed various Yoga Asanas in the Unit premises and 100 cadets in Annual Training Camp at Laadhian Camp site.

National Service Scheme Volunteers of Vet Varsity also took part in the Yoga Day. Volunteers got the knowledge about benefits of different Asanas and day vowed to adopt yogic life style for future.

Capt. Dr. Nittin Dev Singh, Associate NCC Officer apprised the cadets that the theme of the Yoga Day 2024 is “Yoga for self and Society” and being an NCC Cadet it’s their responsibility to keep themselves fit and also propagate the same in the society. There was a session of one hour, where different Yoga Asanas were performed. The instructor demonstrated the various asanas live and the cadets followed him with full devotion. Different asanas like Suryanamaskar, and pranayams were conducted. The cadets were apprised by Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Anshul Reothia about the importance of Yoga which is of utmost help in boosting one’s immunity and overall health. They were apprised that yoga acts as a stress buster in the busy schedule of studies. The cadets were also motivated to teach various asanas to their family members and friends which will help to keep them fit. The entire staff of the NCC unit also performed Yoga along with the cadets.

Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science appreciated the cadets and told the cadets to follow yoga for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director Students’ Welfare encouraged students to gain knowledge about this traditional and ancestral art of India.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh Vice Chancellor applauded the staff and cadets of the NCC Unit and advised the cadets to inculcate yogic lifestyle which will help them immensely in their life.
