Theft PS 36
A Case FIR No. 03 U/S 305, 331 (3) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-36 Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish Kumar R/o # 521/B, Sector.35, Chandigarh he stated that he went to Sonipat (Hry) on 22.12.2024 and on 03.01.2025 his neighbor inform that lock breaking in his house. On 04.01.2025, he came back and found Rs. 22,100/- is stolen by unknown person. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Robbery
A Case FIR No. 02 U/S 126(2), 309(4), 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector-34 Chandigarh on the complaint of Sahil R/o # 346, Sector.32/A, Chandigarh against two unknown pedestrian boys who snatched away complainant’s mobile phone from near 32/33, Small Chowk on 05.1.2024. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Qaumi Insaaaf morcha
CHANDIGARH, 07.01.25-A call was given by Qaumi Insaaaf morcha for a march towards residence of Hon’ble CM, Punjab. To engage the protesters, continuous efforts were made to hold meeting with leaders. However, the representatives of the Morcha refused to engage with the administration. On 6.1.25, leaders were invited for a joint meeting with Officers of Mohali and UT Chandigarh. However, the leaders refused to participate in the meeting.
Late evening on 6.1.25, some representatives of the Morcha were approached, and joined for a brief meeting, however they refused to make any decision to defer the march in view of prevailing restrictions. Any proposal of talk with senior officials of Punjab Government and Ministers were also denied by the leaders.
Today, at around 11 am, a protest march of 70 members of Quami Insaaf Morcha led by Sh. Gurcharan Singh Bapu reached via YPS Chowk, Light Point, Ph-7, Mohali at Chandigarh Mohali border on Sec-52/53 dividing road and further proceeded towards Bus stand Sector 43. The protesters thereafter blocked road in front of Sector 43 Bus Stand. When protesters again started moving in a march form, they were detained by Chandigarh Police. Shortly after, a group of around 100 violent protesters with swords and sharp weapons reached the spot and attacked the police force present at the spot, due to which 3 police officers got injured. Chandigarh police used mild force to disperse the mob. In a third incident, another group of violent protesters marched towards Barricades erected at Mattaur Barrier to stop protesters from entering Chandigarh. The sword wielding protesters jumped barricades and started pelting stones on Police force, in retaliation of which Chandigarh Police used mild Force to disperse the mob. Necessary legal action has been initiated.
