Action against illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Karan Chopra R/o # 77, Sarangpur, Chandigarh, Age 34 years and recovered 12 bottles of country liquor from his possession near Small Chowk near PGI, Chandigarh on 23.03.2024. A case FIR No. 42, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Rahul R/o # 712, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, Age 26 Years and recovered 18 bottles of country liquor from his possession near Raman Gas Agency, Ph-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh on 23-03-2024. A case FIR No. 58, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sushil R/o # 415, Village Kajheri, Chandigarh, Age 20 Years and recovered 24 bottles of whisky from his possession near 66 KV Station, Village Kajheri, Chandigarh on 23-03-2024. A case FIR No. 58, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector 56, Chandigarh, Age 55 Years and recovered 24 halves and 48 nips of Country Liquor from her possession near Dividing Road, Sector-55/56 Chandigarh on 23-03-2024. A case FIR No. 46, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Chandigarh Police apprehended Raju R/o Sector-7, Panchkula, HR, Age 35 Years while he was consuming liquor and creating nuisance at public place near Post Office, Sector 19, Chandigarh on 23.03.2024. In this regard, a case FIR No. 17, U/S 68-1(B) PP Act & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Later, he was released on bail.

Chandigarh Police apprehended Ram Singh R/o Ph-11, Mohali, PB, Age 60 years while he was consuming liquor and creating nuisance at public place near Motor Market, Sector 48, Chandigarh on 23.03.2024. In this regard, a case FIR No. 18, U/S 68-1(B) PP Act & 510 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Later, he was released on bail.

One person arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sehjan Ansari R/o # 2227/6, Pipli Wala Town, Mani Majra, Chandigarh (Age 22 years) and recovered 4 gm heroin from his possession near Gill Farm House, Kishangarh Road, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 23.03.2024. A case FIR No. 18, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Zubair Ali R/o # 604, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh, Age 28 Years and recovered one kamanidar knife from his possession near Veterinary Hospital, Kishangarh, Chandigarh on 23.03.2024. In this regard, a case FIR No. 17, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 23, U/S 279, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of a girl resident of Sector 19, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Truck No. PB-65AH-7961 hit to Activa Scooter No. CH-04C-7451 driven by complainant’s sister at TPT Light Point, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 15.03.2024. Victim was admitted to Fortis Hospital, where she expired during the treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ø RECOVERY: - 260 GRAMS CHARAS, 9.60 GRAMS HEROIN, 3.55 GRAMS SMACK AND ONE ALTO CAR.

CHANDIGARH, 24.03.24- Keeping in view the present scenario and special drive against drugs mafia, on the directions of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting three persons under NDPS Act.

BRIEF OF NDPS ACT:-

CASE FIR NO. 57 DATED 23.03.2024 U/S 20, 21 & 29 NDPS ACT, PS-36, Chandigarh.

On 23.03.2024, ASI Balbir Singh along with police officials of District Crime Cell, Sector-24, Chandigarh, were on patrolling duty in UT Area for detection and prevention of crime. During patrolling they reached near back side road CTU workshop, ISBT-43, Chandigarh and laid a naka and start checking of suspected vehicles and persons. In the meantime one car make Alto (taxi) bearing No. HP01-H-3214 was seen coming towards naka and police officials gave stop signal for checking. On seeing police naka, driver of said car reverse the car and trying to flee from the spot, but police officials by showing their efficiency apprehended driver and co-passengers. On asking they disclosed their names as 1.) Ajay Sharma (Taxi driver) S/o Hans Raj Sharma, r/o Village- Harma, PS-Badsar, Distt- Hamirpur (H.P.), Age-34 years, 2.) Ashish Kumar @ Manu s/o Late Virender Singh, r/o VPO-Bhakreri, Distt.- Hamirpur (H.P.), Age-36 years and 3.) Arshad S/o Afsar Ali, r/o # B-557, Dilshad Garden, Purani Seemapuri, Delhi, Age 19 years. During their search drug contraband i.e. 260 GRAMS CHARAS was recovered from Ajay Sharma (Taxi driver) S/o Hans Raj Sharma, 9.60 GRAMS HEROIN was recovered from Ashish Kumar @ Manu s/o Late Virender Singh and 3.55 GRAMS SMACK was recovered from Arshad S/o Afsar Ali. In this regard, case FIR No. 57 dated 23.03.2023 U/s 20, 21 & 29 NDPS Act, PS- 36, Chandigarh has been registered against them and all three accused was arrested in said case.

The further investigation of the case is in progress.

CHANDIGARH,24.03.24- Chandigarh Police achieved a major success, A team under the close supervision of DSP/N. East headed by SHO/PS IT Park has successfully arrested accused Mohd. Faizaan Ansari S/O Furkaan Ahmad, R/O #H No-2227/6 Pipli Wala Town MANI MAJRA CHD AGE-22 YEARS in case FIR no.18 dated 23.03.2024 u/s 21 NDPS Act. This Case has been register on the complaint of SI Harnek Singh 1298/CHG, PS IT Park, UT Chandigarh reported that on 23.03.2024 at about 06:50 PM while he along with other police officials were on patrolling duty Near Gill Farm Kishangarh Road Mani Majra, Chandigarh he nabbed a suspected person namely Mohd. Faizaan Ansari S/O Furkaan Ahmad, R/O #H No-2227/6 Pipli Wala Town MANI MAJRA CHD AGE-22 YEARS while he was carrying 04 Gram Heroine net weight in his possession without permit or Licenses.
