Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Agarwal directs all district election officers to complete the inspection of polling stations by tomorrow to increase voter turnout

Chandigarh, March 27 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, directs district election officers to complete the inspection of polling stations in the respective districts by tomorrow. Apart from this, efforts should be made to increase voter awareness through various means.

Sh. Anurag Agarwal today was presiding a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners and District Election Officers here today through video conferencing. He emphasized that all District Election Officers should establish control rooms in their respective districts, which would be highly beneficial.

Furthermore, cameras should be installed outside each polling station for monitoring purposes. Additionally, toll-free number 1950, as well as the telephone numbers of CEO and DEO offices, should be displayed outside each polling station so that voters can promptly report any issues to the administration.

He also directed all District Election Officers to set up selfie points at all polling stations. Moreover, efforts should be made to encourage young voters to cast their votes. Besides this, voters should be encouraged to scan the QR code and upload their photos after voting.

Sh. Anurag Agarwal emphasized the dissemination of awareness videos prepared by the ECI and Haryana Election Office through local cable TV networks and broadcasting the audio through FM radio to increase voter turnout.

He also directed that awareness voting stickers be placed near lifts in district secretariats, government buildings, and court complexes.

He informed that 454 complaints have been registered on the C Vigil app from March 16 to date, out of which 329 have been found to be valid, and solutions have been provided for 147 complaints. He directed officials to promptly address upcoming complaints. Additionally, pending work related to Form 6 should be completed by April 26.

He also directed that districts that have not yet submitted hard copies of the district election arrangements plan to the Election Commission should do so immediately. Furthermore, 100% physical verification of counting centres should be done, and a proposal should be sent to the ECI.

Chandigarh March 27- In a significant breakthrough, the nodal cyber police station of the state has apprehended six interstate cyber criminals responsible for defrauding numerous individuals of substantial sums of money.

These cyber criminals operated through various social media platforms, primarily Instagram and Telegram, where they orchestrated their fraudulent schemes.

One of their common tactics involved deceiving victims into transferring money to fake accounts under the guise of various enticing offers.

The cyber police station spearheading the investigation uncovered the intricate methods employed by these criminals. They discovered that the fraudsters would promptly transfer the ill-gotten funds to other fictitious accounts and subsequently withdraw cash.

Sharing information in this regard a police spokesperson stated that the arrests, indicating that four of the cybercriminals were apprehended in Rajasthan, while the remaining two were nabbed in Mewat and Jind, respectively. The individuals arrested had devised multiple strategies to lure and exploit unsuspecting victims, ranging from creating counterfeit social media profiles to impersonating army personnel.

Spokesperson said that in one instance, a victim from Panchkula fell prey to a scam where the cybercriminal posed as an army officer offering a job opportunity as a yoga teacher within the army cantonment. The victim, expecting an advance payment, transferred a significant sum of Rs 1,99,996 via Google Pay ID, only to realise later that it was a ruse.In another case, a resident of Panchkula reported that his friend's son was blackmailed and extorted Rs 51,000 after the cybercriminal produced an obscene video. Additionally, another victim was duped of Rs 90,000 under the pretence of purchasing a bike advertised on Instagram.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Cyber Crime, Sh. Amit Dahiya emphasised the swift action taken by the Cyber Nodal Police Station in response to these complaints. The culprits have been presented before the court, and further legal proceedings are underway.

ADGP Cyber Sh. O.P. Singh cautioned the public against falling victim to similar schemes, urging vigilance and awareness. He highlighted the importance of promptly reporting any suspicious activity to the cyber helpline number 1930.

Sh. Singh stressed the prevalence of cybercriminals operating on social media platforms, enticing individuals with various fraudulent schemes, including fake job offers and enticing deals on goods.

He said that the Haryana Police is committed to combating cybercrime and has dedicated resources to educate the public through awareness campaigns and initiatives such as Cyber Awareness Day. With over 1500 calls received daily from fraud victims, law enforcement authorities continue to prioritise swift and decisive action to protect citizens from falling victim to cyber fraud. The general public is urged to remain vigilant and cautious, refraining from succumbing to temptations and promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.

Haryana Right to Service Commission obtains copyright for 'Auto Appeal Software'

Chandigarh, March 27 - Haryana Right to Service Commission has succeeded in securing the rights of "Copyright" for 'Auto Appeal Software' (AAS), setting a milestone.

Providing information in this regard, a spokesperson for the Haryana Right to Service Commission stated that the commission now holds all rights to the Auto Appeal Software. He mentioned that the Chief Commissioner of the Commission, Sh. T.C. Gupta, has played a crucial role in achieving this milestone as it was his efforts that led to obtaining this copyright. He revealed that the vision of AAS was founded by the Chief Commissioner of the Commission, Sh. T.C. Gupta, and the ownership of it has now been transferred to the Haryana Right to Service Commission. Thus, the copyright related to the Auto Appeal Software is now owned by the Haryana Right to Service Commission.

The spokesperson explained that through the Haryana Right to Service Commission, various services (656) have been notified, for which a definite time frame has been set to furnish the task. He informed that the applicant receives the service within this time frame. If the service is not provided within the specified time frame, an automatic appeal is generated through the Auto Appeal Software. This appeal first goes to the First Grievance Redressal Authority (FGRA), then to the Second Grievance Redressal Authority (SGRA), and finally to the Commission.

Auto Appeal Software is the first software of its kind in the country which eliminates the need for the complainant to do anything to file an appeal. It is noteworthy that through AAS, a total of 11,70,766 appeals have been raised by March 27, 2024, out of which 11,56,595 appeals have also been disposed of, meaning that the disposal rate of appeals in AAS is 98.8%. Haryana is the first state in the country to provide this facility to its citizens through AAS. Other states are also considering implementing this facility in their regions. It is worth noting that the Haryana Right to Service Commission applied for copyright in the year of 2022, which has been granted on March 20, 2024.

It is noteworthy that copyright is a type of intellectual property that grants the creator of an original work, or another rights holder, exclusive and legally protected rights to copy, distribute, adapt, display, and perform the work. The purpose of copyright is to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work.

Chandigarh, March 27 - The Directorate of Research of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal (MHU) organised a farmer workshop and exhibition on the topic "Meri Mati Mera Desh" with natural solutions to soil health problems, sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

Vice-Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Prof. B.R Kamboj participated in the workshop as the chief guest. Farmers from different districts of the state also participated in the workshop.

Prof. B.R Kamboj appreciated the work being done by MHU for the economic upliftment of farmers and said that the topic chosen by MHU is the need of the hour. If we do not conserve natural resources for future generations, how will our generations get water, clean air, and food? Therefore, he added that it is our responsibility to move forward by maintaining a balance in the ecosystem.

He stated that we have many challenges before us, which we must convert into opportunities and find solutions. Every basic need like food and water comes from the earth, so we must conserve it for our future generation's needs, and by this, the ecosystem will also remain intact, he added

He said that we all have to come together to build a developed India so that foreign people also come to see India's advanced agriculture. He told the farmers that “At this time there is a need to adopt a balanced approach, if we use natural resources like crop residues, cow dung etc., which are old farming practices, along with chemicals in an integrated way, then we will be able to conserve natural resources and the soil fertility”.
