Chandigarh, March 5:- Continuing its strict enforcement against illegal activities on public spaces, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh carried out a special drive against dumped and illegally repaired vehicles in the Motor Market area of Manimajra, Sector-13.
Acting on numerous complaints received from the general public regarding the misuse of roads and parking areas for vehicle repair and dumping, the enforcement team of the Municipal Corporation launched a targeted operation in the area.
During the drive, a total of 14 vehicles were impounded, including 3 big trucks and 9 cars and 2 tempo traveller, which were found either dumped for long periods or being used for unauthorized repair activities on public land.
The drive was conducted to clear public spaces and ensure smooth movement of traffic in the busy Motor Market area, where several shopkeepers and mechanics were illegally occupying roads and parking areas for vehicle repairs.
The Municipal Corporation has reiterated that strict action will continue against violators, and similar drives will be carried out regularly in different parts of the city to curb illegal repair activities and remove dumped vehicles from public areas.
Residents have appreciated the action and urged the authorities to maintain regular monitoring to keep public spaces free from encroachments.
The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has appealed to all vehicle owners, mechanics, and workshop operators to refrain from carrying out repair works on roads, parking areas, or other public spaces, failing which strict enforcement action will be taken as per rules.
