Chandigarh, April 24, 2026:Chandigarh Traffic Police organized a workshop on “Silent Burden of Obstructive Sleep Apnea” at Traffic Lines, Sector 29, U.T. Chandigarh today.
The session was conducted in coordination with Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Professor and Incharge Sleep Lab, Department of ENT, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and President, Indian Association of Surgeons for Sleep Apnea (ASSA). A total of 93 drivers and traffic personnel attended.
Dr. Bansal highlighted causes, health risks, and preventive measures related to sleep apnea, and shared PGIMER helpline and OPD details for further consultation.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among drivers and traffic personnel, contributing to improved road safety and public health.
It is hereby informed that the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) is in the process of finalizing documentation pertaining to cases of compassionate appointments. This action is being undertaken in compliance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel, Chandigarh Administration, vide letter No. 29/2/94-IH(7)II-2025/7658 dated 09.06.2025.
However, due to the unavailability or outdated status of contact details of several applicants in the official records, the department has been unable to establish communication with all concerned individuals.
In view of the above, all applicants who have applied for compassionate appointment in CTU are hereby given a final opportunity through this Public Notice to complete their documentation. The applicants are requested to contact Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sr. Assistant, or Sh. Manoj Kumar, Clerk, at the HOD Branch, CTU, Plot No. 701, Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh, within 10 days from the date of publication of this notice, on any working day between 10:00 AM and 05:00 PM.

It may be noted that in case an applicant fails to submit the requisite documents within the stipulated period of 10 days, the applications already complete in all respects shall be forwarded to the Regional Employment Exchange, U.T., Chandigarh for consideration under the Point-Based Merit System, without any further delay. The office shall not be in a position to forward cases that remain incomplete due to non-submission of the required documents.
