MC Chief Engineer directs expedited completion of Amrit Sarovar project at Dhanas before monsoon

Chandigarh, May 19:- Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Sh. Sanjay Arora, today visited the site of the upcoming Amrit Sarovar at Village Dhanas to review the progress of the ongoing development works being executed under AMRUT 2.0. He was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer and the concerned Executive Engineer of the Public Health Wing, MCC.

Taking serious note of the delay in execution of the project, the Chief Engineer issued strict directions to the concerned Executive Engineer and the contractor to ensure completion of the project in all respects before the onset of the monsoon season.

During the inspection, the chief engineer instructed the field staff to accelerate the pace of work and complete all pending components including piling work, pathway development, construction of the central island, public toilet facilities, electrical installations and allied infrastructure within the stipulated timeframe.

Highlighting the significance of the project, the Chief Engineer stated that the Amrit Sarovar initiative is a landmark step towards ecological conservation and restoration of traditional water bodies. He added that the project, being developed under AMRUT 2.0, aims to rejuvenate natural water ecosystems while promoting sustainable urban development and environmental sustainability in the city.

MCC fixes uniform timings for feeding community dogs across Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 19:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has fixed uniform timings for feeding community/stray dogs at all designated feeding spots across the city to maintain proper management and uniformity.

The decision has been taken after reviewing different feeding timings being followed in various areas and representations received from stakeholders.

Morning

Summer: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Winter: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM


Evening

Summer: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Winter: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The MC Chandigarh has notified that feeding of community dogs should be done only at designated feeding spots and within the prescribed timings.

Sanitary Inspectors and field staff have been directed to ensure strict compliance and regular monitoring in all sectors and areas of Chandigarh.

The Corporation has also appealed to residents and animal feeders to cooperate and follow the guidelines for better public convenience and management.

ADC reviews progress of Naksha project, directs speedy completion of digital land records survey

Chandigarh, May 19:- A review meeting regarding the ongoing Naksha project for preparation of digital land and ownership records in the Abadi Deh areas of villages Sarangpur, Attawa, Burail, Kajeri and Palsora was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, ADC, UT Chandigarh.

The meeting was attended by MC Joint Commissioner Dr. Inder Jeet, officials of the S.P.M.U. team and representatives of the concerned departments.

During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of field surveys, verification procedures and preparation of digital ownership records being undertaken under the Naksha Project. Detailed discussions were held regarding the status of survey operations and completion of pending formalities in the identified villages.

Expressing the need for timely execution of the project, the ADC directed all survey teams and concerned departments to expedite the remaining field work and ensure completion within the stipulated timeline. He emphasized that complete accuracy, transparency and accountability must be maintained during the preparation of digital land and ownership records.

He further instructed all departments to work in close coordination for smooth and effective implementation of the project, which aims to create reliable, transparent and citizen-friendly digital land records for the residents of the concerned villages.
