Chandigarh, August 27:- The Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Sh. Sanjay Arora, chaired a review meeting with representatives of the Chandigarh Transport Association to take stock of civic infrastructure and other issues concerning transporters in the Transport Area, Sector 26.

During the meeting, the Chief Engineer held detailed discussions with the transporters on issues related to civic amenities, infrastructure, traffic management, enforcement, parking and ongoing development works. The representatives raised concerns regarding boards, paver blocks, grills, coordination between Traffic Police and Enforcement teams, sewerage and storm-water drainage works, parking arrangements and access control.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Labour Hostel, truck parking arrangements and the need for strengthening CCTV surveillance in the area. Fogging arrangements and installation of additional CCTV cameras were also discussed with the concerned wings.

Sh. Sanjay Arora directed the concerned officers to examine the issues raised on priority and ensure better coordination among different wings for their timely resolution. He also reviewed ongoing works and stressed fixing clear target dates to ensure their completion within stipulated timelines.

The Chief Engineer assured the transporters that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority through coordinated and time-bound action.
