Ten arrested under NDPS ACT

A case FIR No. 85 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint/report of Insp. Bahgwat Dayal 1365/CHG, against Manish Kumar S/o Murari Rai, R/o # 08, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, who was apprehended from Sector-29 CD Turn on 16-09-2026 at about 10:20 PM and 9 grams heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused in police lock up.

A case FIR No. 90 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra on the complaint/report of SI Jai Bhagwan 1576/CHG, against Mohammad Talib @ Badasha S/o Mohammad Yushif, R/o #244/3, Gali No. 4, Shanti Nagar, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near BSNL Turn, Govindpura, Mani Majra, on 15-09-2026 at about 11:45 PM and 11.82 grams heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused in police lock up.

A case FIR No. 91 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra on the complaint/report of SI Rajesh 1631/CHG, against Rajat Kumar S/o Tarsem Lal, R/o # 277, Samadhi Gate, Manimajra, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Gate No. 3 MHC, Mani Majra, on 16-09-2026 at about 8:57 PM while consuming a suspected narcotic substance using aluminium foil paper, ₹10 currency note and lighter were recovered. Accused bailed out later on.

A case FIR No. 92 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra on the complaint/report of ASI Manish Kumar 1895/CHG, against Sourav Chaudhry S/o Kehar Singh, R/o #116 GH-6 MDC, Sector-5, Panchkula, who was apprehended near Dussehra Ground, Mani Majra, while consuming a suspected narcotic substance using aluminium foil paper, ₹10 currency note and lighter were recovered. Accused bailed out later on.

A case FIR No. 143 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint/report of Insp. Jaspal Singh 1486/CHG, against Ankush S/o Sanjeev Kumar, R/o # 2443, MJ Complex, Chandigarh, who was apprehended from the railway under bridge, Vikas Nagar, on 16-09-2026 at about 4:40 PM while consuming a suspected narcotic substance using aluminum foil paper, ₹10 currency note and lighter were recovered. Accused bailed out later on.

A case FIR No. 144 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint/report of SI Bhagwant Singh 1997/CHG, against Shree Ram @ Akash S/o Lal Chand, R/o #2161, MJ Complex, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Community Centre, Sundar Nagar, Mauli Jagran, on 16-09-2026 at about 7:30 PM while consuming a suspected narcotic substance using aluminium foil paper, ₹10 currency note and lighter were recovered. Accused bailed out later on.

A case FIR No. 160 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint/report of SI Dalvir Singh 1678/CHG, against Hariom @ Rottal S/o Ram Avtar, R/o #2021, PH-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Cut & Care Salon, Ram Darbar, on 15-09-2026 at about 9:10 PM and 6.75 grams heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused sent to judicial custody.

A case FIR No. 161 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint/report of ASI Pawan Kumar 2096/CHG, against Vansh S/o Rajesh Kumar, R/o Guga Mari, Saria, near Indira Awas Colony, PH-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, who was apprehended with car No. CH-01CM-6223 near Guga Mari, PH-2, Ram Darbar, on 16-09-2026 at about 5:15 PM and 22.06 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused in police lockup.

A case FIR No. 163 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint/report of ASI Vivek 1919/CHG, against Gaurav S/o Sh. Mewa Singh, R/o #1009, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Ramleela Ground near Dispensary, Hallo Majra, on 16-09-2026 at about 7:10 PM and 8.29 grams heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused in police lockup.

A case FIR No. 159 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 39 on the complaint/report of SI Kuldeep Singh 1792/CHG, against Sonu S/o Kishan Lal, R/o #216, Satnam Waheguru Colony, Vill. Jhampur, Mohali, Punjab, who was apprehended near BeatBox, Sector-38, Chandigarh, on 16-09-2026 at about 4:50 PM and 12.98 grams heroin was recovered from his possession. Accused in police custody.

Two arrested under Arms Act

A case FIR No. 142 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint/report of HC Rajroop 1226/CP, against Sachin @ Harshu S/o Manik Chand, R/o #953, Hallo Majra, who was apprehended near EWS Flats, Sunder Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on 16-09-2026 at about 2:25 AM and one button-operated foldable knife was recovered from his possession. Accused sent to judicial custody.

A case FIR No. 162 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint/report of ASI Avtar Singh 3036/CP, against Vishal @ Mota S/o Mohan Singh, R/o #1472, Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Kabari Market, Hallo Majra, on 16-09-2026 at about 5:30 PM and one Kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. Accused in police lockup.

One arrested under Excise Act

A case FIR No. 145 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint/report of HC Kuldeep Singh 775/CP, against Pardeep S/o Surinder Pal, R/o #341, Vikas Nagar, Panipat, Haryana, who was apprehended along with truck No. HR-67B-4186 from Pepsi Turn towards Makhan Majra on 16-09-2026 at about 5:10 AM and 625 boxes of Royal Mansion Gold Whisky were recovered. Accused bailed out later on.

Action against COTPA ACT

A case FIR No. 126 u/s 21 COTPA Act has been registered at Police Station 17 on the complaint/report of Dr. Deepinder Singh, Nodal Officer, NTCP, GMSH-16, Chandigarh, against the owner of Jumeirah Restaurant, SCO No. 83-84, Sector-16, Chandigarh, for serving hookah during a search conducted on 16-09-2026 at about 6:45 PM. Twenty-five hookah chillams, eight packets of flavoured tobacco hookah molasses, four hookah mouthpieces and one open packet of Coco Ya Ya hookah coal briquettes were recovered.

Two arrested in consuming liquor at public place

A case FIR No. 48 u/s 68(1)(B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station 19 on the complaint/report of HC Pardeep 6433/CP, against Ravinder Kumar S/o Jagan Nath, who was apprehended near the public toilet, Sector-20, Chandigarh, on 16-09-2026 at about 8:59 PM while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. Accused bailed out later on.

A case FIR No. 49 u/s 68(1) (B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station 19 on the complaint/report of HC Vinod Kumar 6428/CP, against Pankaj Pathak S/o Anand Pathak, who was apprehended near SCO No. 40, Sector-20, Chandigarh, on 16-09-2026 while drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. Accused bailed out later on.

One arrested under obstructing the police

A case FIR No. 119 u/s 262, 121 BNS has been registered at Police Station Maloya on the complaint/report of ASI Baljit Singh 2088/CHG, against Rohan @ Khatta S/o Mahipal, R/o #1389/B, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh, who was apprehended in FIR No. 117 dated 15-09-2026 u/s 21 NDPS Act and allegedly ran away after pushing police personnel near Satsang Bhawan, EWS Maloya, on 15-09-2026 at about 11:58 PM. Accused arrested and in police lockup.

Cheating —Cyber,

A case FIR No. 153 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber on the complaint of Brig. Bhup Singh Taunque S/o Lt. Major M.S. Taunque, R/o #2535, Army Flats, Sector-47/C, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person cheated him of ₹3,26,374/- on the pretext of gas bill payment through the Adani Gas APK file.

Accident

A case FIR No. 107 u/s 281, 106 BNS has been registered at Police Station 03 on the complaint of Davinder Singh R/o # 4469, Sector-46/D, Chandigarh, against an unknown auto driver who sped away after hitting a pedestrian boy, at Sector-9/17 dividing road on 15-09-2026. The injured later expired during treatment at PGI. No arrest so far.

A case FIR No. 127 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station 17 on the complaint of lady R/o District Mohali, against Shamsher Singh S/o Surender Singh, driver of bus No. HP-12P-0523,who hit an Activa No. CH-01BH-7734 near Kisan Bhawan Chowk, Sector-23, Chandigarh, on 16-09-2026 at about 3:45 PM. The complainant and her friend sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital. Accused arrested and later bailed out.

Theft

A case FIR No. 114 u/s 305 BNS has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of lady R/o # Haryana, against an unknown person who stole her purse containing two gold chains, one gold ring, one pair of gold earrings, mobile phone, Army medical card and ₹8,000/- cash from APC Building, PGI, Chandigarh, on 21-08-2026. Investigation of the case is in progress.
