Chandigarh, September 20, 2026: The Directorate of AYUSH, Chandigarh Administration, in collaboration with Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, organised a Health and Yoga Camp at Fragrance Garden, Sector 36, Chandigarh, as part of the activities being held in connection with Ayurveda Day 2026.
The 11th Ayurveda Day will be observed on September 23, 2026, under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.” The date and theme have been verified from the official CSIR communication.
Dr. Atul N. Dhakne, Director AYUSH, Chandigarh Administration, graced the programme as the Chief Guest. Shri Gopal Dass state president Bharatiya Yog Sansthan was also present on the occasion.
Dr. Dhakne interacted with the medical teams and participants and highlighted the important role of AYUSH systems and yoga in promoting holistic well-being and preventive healthcare.
Free consultations were provided under the Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Unani systems of medicine. Yoga sessions were also conducted in collaboration with Bharatiya Yog Sansthan wherein 500 persons participated.
A total of 192 patients received consultation services during the camp, including:
* Ayurvedic OPD – 93 patients
* Homoeopathic OPD – 59 patients
* Unani OPD – 40 patients
The camp witnessed active participation from the public and AYUSH healthcare professionals. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about AYUSH systems, healthy lifestyle practices, preventive healthcare and the benefits of yoga.
The Directorate of AYUSH, Chandigarh Administration, will continue to organise community-based health and awareness programmes to make AYUSH healthcare services more accessible to the public.
