Chandigarh, 7 October: The Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an awareness session titled ‘Healthy Diet and Lifestyle: A Mission- Say Yes to Life and No to Drugs’ at Government Model High School, Sector 29, Chandigarh. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science at the college was the resource person.
Dr. Kaur engaged the students in an informative discussion on health and nutrition, balanced diets, healthy eating habits, and the therapeutic potential of food. The session also addressed concerns related to food addiction, unhealthy eating patterns and drug addiction. Dr. Kaur sensitised the students to the harmful effects and addictive potential associated with the excessive consumption of cold drinks and junk food, encouraging them to make informed and healthier lifestyle choices. Ms. Bharti Vandana, Principal, Government Model High School, appreciated the initiative of the VADA Club.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma applauded the initiative and highlighted the relevance of promoting awareness about healthy lifestyles and substance abuse prevention among young people.
