Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon Extends Greetings on Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas
Appeals to every Punjabi to light a dedicated lamp in memory of youth lost to the scourge of drugs
Chandigarh, November 7-Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab State President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon extended heartiest greetings to all Punjabis and citizens across the country on the auspicious festivals of Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas, which celebrate light, joy, and communal brotherhood.
In his congratulatory message, S. Dhillon stated that Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas convey an eternal message of the triumph of light over darkness, righteousness over evil, and hope over despair. He urged everyone to share the joy of these holy festivals with every section of society, especially the underprivileged.
Making an emotional appeal to the people of the state, S. Dhillon noted that the curse of drug addiction has caused immense devastation to Punjab’s younger generation. He remarked that drugs have bereaved countless mothers and extinguished the guiding lights of thousands of households. This agony, he stressed, does not belong solely to the affected families, but is a shared sorrow borne by all of Punjab.
He appealed to every Punjabi to light a dedicated lamp in their home this Diwali in solemn memory of the youth whose precious lives were cut short by drugs. Alongside this, he called upon the community to pray to the Almighty to banish the dark shadow of narcotics from Punjab, ensuring that no mother ever loses her child to this menace again.
S. Dhillon emphasized, "Let us take a firm collective pledge on this sacred occasion to build a drug-free, healthy, and prosperous Punjab. Let us step forward to help those in need, strengthen our mutual bonds of love and unity, and pray together for Punjab’s enduring high spirits (Chardi Kala), peace, and well-being."
