Chandigarh,18.06.17-ChandigarhLed by Leader of the Opposition, Shri Abhay Singh Chautala, an Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) delegation consisting of 18 MLAs and two MPs condoled with the families of those farmers of Mandsour (MP) who had lost their lives in the police firing. , June 18, 2017: The delegation visited the houses of each of the farmers killed in the brutal firing. The farmers had been protesting peacefully against the anti-farmer policies of the government and demanding relief in the face of mounting losses and consequent debts.

          Expressing solidarity with the farmers, Shri Abhay Singh Chautala said that the INLD stands by the demands of the farmers and would raise them at all forums including the parliament. Leader of the Opposition demanded that the government of Madhya Pradesh not only provide adequate compensation to the families of the deceased farmers but also provide government jobs to at least one member of the family. He reiterated that the only course for any government to help the farmers is to implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission report for fixing the MSP of farm produce. He also demanded that the MSP should not only be announced in Delhi but also implemented in all the States at the ground level.
