Los Angeles, California ( ETN )-03.123.17-- Volunteers from SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, have joined forces with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA), to help build a site in Long Beach, California.

Over 30 volunteers from SkyTeam’s US Market Coordinating Committee (MCC) have joined Habitat LA on in its mission to build homes for deserving, low- income families in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Volunteers from all of SkyTeam’s 20 member airlines contributed their time and skills to help build four homes at the Habitat build site in Long Beach, California. Tasks for the team included carpentry, painting and yard work.

Not only did SkyTeam’s US MCCs donate their time, but they also donated money to Habitat for Humanity in lieu of their annual holiday celebration.

The Habitat LA build site is four single family, two story, 3-bedroom homes that will be sold to partner families who have met eligibility standards. They provide sweat equity plus financial commitments that define Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing a hand up, not a hand out.
