Chandigarh,11.10.18-The Postgraduate Department of Mathematics at MCM DAV College for Women organised a counselling session on Careers in Mathematics. Mr.Gulshan, Coordinator, Mr.Nitish, Co-Coordinator and Mr.Itish, Faculty Member of MIM Institute, Chandigarh apprised the students of the various employment opportunities available to them after pursuing a degree in Mathematics, thereby putting to rest various misgivings in the minds of students about the career prospects of Mathematics.

In another event, the Department of Sanskrit organised a lecture cum interactive session on 'Sanskrit VaakkiDishaayen' by Prof.Virendra Kumar Alankar, Chairperson, Department of Sanskrit and Director, Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, Panjab University. Prof.Alankar while highlighting the importance of Sanskrit language said that even the West has realised the value of our rich cultural heritage and is emulating our Vedic teachings. Students enthusiastically partook in the interactive session that followed the lecture.

Principal Dr.NishaBhargava reiterated that at MCM, all the academic and co-curricular endeavours are focussed on the holistic development of its stakeholders and such initiatives are a part of MCM's efforts to groom women of substance who are ready to take challenges head on.
