Chandigarh,12TH OCTOBER 2018, FRIDAY-Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Technology, Sector-42D, a premier institute providing hospitality education, an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organized “Aao Apna School Swachh Banaye Drive” as a part of “Swacchta Action Plan” to sensitize people about the significance of a clean and green country.

This drive was organized by AIHM for the students and staff of Govt. school, Buterla village. The main purpose of the drive was to sensitize the school students and staff about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings. The students were told the importance of personal and surrounding’s hygiene and their role in keeping their school clean. Pamphlets on importance of Swachhta were distributed in the classes. Posters were pasted in various areas of the school depicting the importance of Swachhta.

The staff members of the school were gifted aprons and caps which they wore and joined the institute faculty and students in the cleanliness drive in which the school premises was cleaned. Also, the sweepers responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of the school were praised and felicitated with Badges of “I am a Cleanliness Hero”. Institute also distributed dustbins, trash bags and brooms to the school to facilitate their day to day cleaning.

Mr Arvind Varma, the Principal of the Institute praised the students and commented, “I am very proud of the students for their well-performed cleanliness activities. The students have successfully managed to deliver a positive social awareness message regarding the cleanliness of one’s city and I hope people will now recognize the significance of this issue with utmost regard.”
