Efforts on for holistic development of tourism potential: CM

The State Government is working for holistic development of tourism potential in the State by giving special thrust on eco, culture and religious and adventure tourism. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the presentation made by Hitesh Trivedi of Meehit Group regarding tourism development in the State, here today.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was making all out efforts to fully harness immense tourism potential available to make the State self-reliant and providing adequate employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth.

He said that the state government would develop Janjehli area in Mandi district from eco-tourism point of view, Bir Billing in Kangra district as para-gliding and adventure sports destination, Pong Dam for water sports and Chanshal area in Shimla district for winter sports and skiing.

Jai Ram Thakur said that government would develop Shiv Dham at Mandi town under which replicas of twelve Jyotrilinga would be created to attract tourists as well as locals. Under this project, Mandi lake would also be developed besides introducing the concept of Beas Aarti on the analogy of Ganga Aarti.

He said that in order to lessen the burden from already overcrowded tourists destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala etc., the government has launched ‘Nai Rehein Nai Manjilein’ scheme to create world class infrastructure for the tourists in the virgin tourists destinations of the state.

Additional Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh, representative of Meehit Group and other senior officers were present on the occasion.

Delegation calls on Chief Minister
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur urged the party workers to ensure effective dissemination of policies and programmes of the State Government upto the grass root level so that people could derive benefits from these welfare schemes. Chief Minister was addressing the delegation of Mandi district headed by newly appointed Chairman of APMC Mandi Dalip Thakur who had called on the Chief Minister for thanking him for his appointment as Chairman.
Chief Minister said that the BJP today has emerged as a biggest political party of the world due to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President BJP Amit Shah besides hard work and dedication of the common party workers. He said that the workers should ensure that they may have regular contact with the common people and keep the momentum going.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Central and State Governments were committed for welfare of every section of the State with special focus on those areas which remained neglected so far due to one reason or the others.
Chairman AMPC Mandi Dalip Thakur thanked the Chief Minister for his appointment and assured the Chief Minister that he would work with commitment and dedication to come up to the expectations of the Chief Minister.


Representatives of German company hold talks for establishing centre of excellence

The representatives of the German company M/s Export-Akademie Baden-Wurttemberg held meeting with Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi and other senior officers of the state government here last evening regarding establishing Indo-German centre of excellence for innovation and technology management in the State.

This company had shown keen interest to invest in Himachal Pradesh during the visit of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to Germany where he held detailed discussions during the road show at Frankfort.

Dr. Baldi said that the State was keen in setting up a centre of excellence for innovation and technology management and technology as a nucleus for innovation and regional development. This would ensure promotion of clean technologies and automation in the State and linking up of cluster with technology clusters in Germany.

He assured the Germany representatives that state government would provide all possible help for setting up of the centre of excellence in the State.

Partner and CEO Export-Akademie Baden Wurttemberg Prof. Bertram Lohmuller said that the centre would go a long way in building up regional innovation hubs and learning regions for start-up companies and matchmaking between start-up companies and potential investors.

President, European Canter for Mechatronics- Partner to ITA RWTH Aachen University, Germany Vangapandu Venkatanagaraju was also part of this delegation.

Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, Managing Director, Kaushal Vikas Nigam Rohan Chand Thakur, Director, Industries Hansraj Sharma, Director, Technical Education Shubhkaran, Registrar, HP University Ghanshyam Chand were present on the occasion among others.
