Chandigarh, Sep 19 – The Haryana Finance Minister, Captain Abhimanyu said that the State government has increased the monthly honorarium and other allowance of the Village Chowkidars. The government has decided to give an amount of Rs 500 on each entry for registering the death information in their respective area, out of which Rs. 300 is paid to each Chowkidar for giving this information, Rs 50 to the Common Service Centre for updating the portal and Rs 150 to the concerned Gram Panchayat.

Capt. Abhimanyu said that the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has given administrative approval for the same.

Giving more information, the Finance Minister said that the monthly honorarium of village Chowkidars has been enhanced from Rs 3,500 per month to Rs 7,000 per month. They are also given uniform allowance of Rs 2,500 per annum, Lathi/Battery allowance of Rs 1,000 per annum and one-time bicycle allowance of Rs 3,500 each.

He informed that under the Haryana Chowkidari Rules, 2003, each village Chowkidar prepares a register of birth and death and then sends a monthly report to the District Magistrate.

Chandigarh, Sept 19- Haryana government has decided to increase the rate of subsidy from 10 per cent to 25 per cent, given under the Personal Loan Scheme through Haryana Women Development Corporation.

Giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that a proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.

He said that under personal loan scheme, 25 per cent subsidy and 10 per cent beneficiary's share and the remaining 65 per cent of the loan, is given by commercial and nationalized banks. He said that the maximum limit of 25 per cent subsidy given on the total loan for Scheduled Caste women has been fixed at Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 for other categories, respectively. Earlier, the maximum limit of 10 per cent subsidy given on total loan was Rs 5,000.

Under Personal Loan Scheme, the maximum loan amount has been fixed for the person belonging to Scheduled Caste is Rs one lakh and Rs. 40,000 for other categories.

The Haryana Excise and Taxation Department has seized a total of 24303 liter of liquor having worth of Rs.50.47 lakh within one week.

Chandigarh, Sep 19 –The Haryana Excise and Taxation Department has seized a total of 24303 liter of liquor having worth of Rs.50.47 lakh within one week.

Sharing more information, an official spokesman said that in view of forthcoming General Elections to Haryana Assembly, the department has launched a massive drive to effectively monitor and control the storage and movement of illicit liquor. He said that the department during last week has been able to seize huge quantity of illegal liquor from various districts.

He said that in this regard, a meeting of all DETCs (Excise) of the State was recently taken by ETC, Haryana. All the DETCs were directed that all the distilleries/bottling plants will be effectively monitored round the clock so as to check and prevent illegal movement of liquor from the manufactories.

Further, mobile teams have also been constituted in every district to keep a track on any illegal storage and movement of liquor. It was also directed by ETC that all the vends/sub-vends shall remain closed during the period of 48 hours prior to the close of poll.

He said that in Jagadhri a total of 14400 bottles of Country Liquor (CL) of brand `Santra' were seized on September 17, 2019.

Similarly, a total of 19504 bottles of mixed brands of both CL and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) were caught in Palwal district. Further, a total of 3840 bottles of different brands of CL and IMFL and 674 bottles of mixed brands were caught from Mewat and Panchkula respectively.
