Chandigarh,31st July,: QCI jointly with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized its 5th Regional Quality Conclave (RQC) at Hotel Taj, Chandigarh on 31st July, 2019 on the theme “Excellence Through Smart Manufacturing.” First four RQCs were conducted at Varanasi, Pune, Jaipur, Guwahati respectively.

This Conclave had 4 interesting Sessions on Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0, Quality Culture to enhance performance, Predictive & Preventive maintenance, Improving customer engagement through effective technologies.

The Inaugural Address was given by Ms. Vini Mahajan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab. She said, “We are here trying to get in place the eco-system in the state and generate that will and fire each one of us to achieve quality so that Make In India gets associated with quality.” She further added, “We need consciousness and conscious effort to marry innovation with quality which can be done with sincere efforts.”

The guest of honour for the conclave was Dr. Yash Garg, IAS, Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana, also highlighted the importance of quality. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were namely, Mr. C. K. Biswas, CEO, National Board for Quality Promotion, QCI; Mr. R S Sachdeva, Chairman, Punjab State Chapter, PHD Chamber.

Sessions of the Conclave were addressed by Mr. Sanjeev Singh, MD, Gilard Electronics Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Vikas Gupta, Senior Delivery Manager, Internet of Things , Infosys Ltd; Prof. Harpreet Singh Ph.D., Prof & Dean ICSR, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar; Mr. Kunal Pruthi, Business Development Manager, WIN Automation Solutions; Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal- CEO, National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET); Mr. Somenath Ghosh, Asst. Director, Indian Institute of Welding; Mr. Virat Dhebar, Assistant Vice President – Academy, TÜV SÜD South Asia; Mr. Vikas Chhabra, Director, Aman Skills Programming Society; Mr. Vinod Sharma, Managing Director, Deki Electronics Limited; Dr. Indrajit Bhattacharya- Director,National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET); Ms. Samira Saluja, Owner, Oriental Engineering Works Pvt. Ltd., among others.

The Conclave saw the presence of around 200 delegates from different sectors of the Manufacturing Industry and was a huge success.

The next Conclave will be held at Ranchi.
