Bilaspur, April 28:Om Kant Thakur, a 2020-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, assumed charge as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Bilaspur district on Monday. After assuming office, he was warmly welcomed by the officers and staff at the district administrative complex.

Prior to this assignment, Om Kant Thakur served as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Karsog and Mandi Sadar subdivisions. Speaking on the occasion, he said that every possible effort would be made to accelerate the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects of both the State and Central Governments in the district. He emphasized that effective coordination would be maintained with various departments to ensure proper monitoring of schemes, thereby guaranteeing that the benefits directly reach the common people.

He further stated that regular reviews of development works would be conducted by ensuring close coordination among all departments. Special emphasis would be laid on the holistic development of rural areas through the Rural Development Agency.

ADC Om Kant Thakur affirmed that the district administration would function with transparency, efficiency, and sensitivity. He stressed that all officers and employees should work with team spirit and prioritize the prompt redressal of public grievances.
