CHANDIGARH,13.04.21-Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has announced a TikaUtsav from 11^th to 14^th April 2021 and in the view of the same, PHD Chamber leading the initiative, is organizing series of Awareness Sessions with Industry and Community Leaders to promote the vaccination drive. Awareness program on the “Importance of Covid-Vaccination” was organized on 13 April 2021 virtually here today to encourage the people of Punjab State to get vaccinated and adhere to strict protocol of Covid-19. Following which Vaccination camp at Civil Hospital, phase 6, Mohali was organized. The initiative was led by Mr. Karan Gilhotra, Chair, Punjab State Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gilhotra said Vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent disease and save lives. He further stated that the number of Covid-19 cases was declining but due to negligent behavior of people, we are witnessing the second wave of the virus which is spreading much faster. He said Government is working proactively to provide vaccination against the infection but people have apprehensions about the vaccine and are hesitant to get vaccinated.

He stated that currently two vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin are being administered in India and both the vaccines are very safe and work effectively against the virus with no major health concerns appearing in vaccinated persons.
