Chandigarh,24.07.24- In the series of the Allengers Gully Cricket Tournament which is being organised by UT Cricket Association in collaboration with Chandigarh Police from July 26, the tournament‘s jersey and cap were unveiled at UT Police Headquarters, Sector 9 on Wednesday IG RK Singh along with senior IPS officers - Kanwardeep Kaur, Sumer Pratap Singh, Mridul, DSP Ram Gopal, UTCA’s President Sanjay Tandon with his officials Alok Krishna, Ravinder Singh Billa, Dr. Rupesh Kumar Singh, Allengers’s Managing Director RS Kanwar and members of the core committee of the tournament marked the occasion. RK Singh while realizing the importance of this event said this move will definitely give more strength to the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. He termed this tradition of UT Police and UTCA of connecting children with sports will be fruitful and expressed hope that this partnership will continue in the near future as well.

A total of 300 teams are participating in the tournament in boys and girls categories who will play matches in nine grounds of the city. Apart from the tournament matches, exhibition matches will also be organized on weekends wherein intellectuals of the city will participate in the joy of cricket. The tournament will be inaugurated by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit on July 26 while the final of the tournament will be played on August 11. The tournament is also supported by Municipal Corporation, Sports, Education and Social Welfare Departments.
