CHANDIGARH, 11.09.24-Journey narrated by Colonel Gursewak Singh (Veteren), Author, Motivational Speaker and Life Coach.
Years back I visited the Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) in May 2002, when I was invited to deliver a motivational lecture to the Gentleman Cadets at Ketharpal Auditorium in IMA. Very recently, I again got an opportunity to visit the IMA on 7th September 2024.
During these 22 years, the IMA campus has undergone some meaningful changes : infrastructural & technological setup, world class swimming pool, two under bridges on the highway, which bifurcates the campus, to facilitate hassle free commuting to either side, a magnificent war memorial, a huge cadets mess, a modern library and a row of new buildings ( Cadet Cabins ), arranged company/ battalion wise to house the cadets. However, the main attraction still remains the historical Chetwoode Hall which also houses an impressive museum.
My present trip to Dehradun was again coincidentally as a guest speaker to an Army Formation. It is always a pleasure to interact with Fauji fraternity.
While in Dehradun, we took the opportunity to visit the renowned ancient Tapkeshwar Mandir - dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is built on top of a natural cave. It was exhilarating experience to sit in the original cave with closed eyes for some time.
Overall, it has been an excellent trip.
