Mahendergarh, 11.10.24-Women empowerment Cell, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh celebrated International Day of the Girl Child on the theme “Girls' vision for the Future” on 11th October, 2024 at Government Sr. Sec. School, Pali, Mahendergarh. The programme highlights were to conduct “One day capacity building programme for school girls targeting SDGs 2&6 Mitigating hidden hunger and imparting clean water and sanitation knowledge”. The event coordinator Dr. Anita Kumar thanked Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Sushma Yadav, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for their constant support and motivation for organizing the activities.
Dr. Anita Kumari, welcomed and thanked School Principal, Dr. I.C. Sharma; Vice-Principal: Virender Singh, senior teaching staff members and other academic staff for providing the time and space to conduct this event. The programme coordinator begins the programme with “Hands on training on “Clean water and sanitation practices for girls”, followed by extension lecture on “Mitigating hidden hunger to improve physical, mental and social well-being: Public health and nutrition aspects”. Ms. Renu from the Department of Economics presented a lecture titled "Future Forward: Inspiring Career Opportunities for School Children." Dr. Anita also thanked Convener of the programme, Dr. Renu Yadav, other organizing team members and school authorities for making this event a great success.
