CHANDIGARH, 01.11.24- Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, bid a warm adieu to its Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava, who superannuated after a glorious tenure as the Principal of one of the leading higher education institutions of the country. An energy economics expert with the heart of a poetess, Dr. Bhargava had an illustrious career of over 38 years and served the college as Principal for 9 years.
The farewell was a memorable and heartfelt event filled with admiration, gratitude, and nostalgia. Colleagues, family, and esteemed guests gathered to honour Dr. Bhargava’s distinguished career, recognising her dedication, leadership, and lasting contributions to the institution. The event was made memorable with the gracious presence of Mr. H.R. Gandhar, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, Mrs. Sudesh Gandhar, Dr. Gurdip Sharma, General Secretary, Sanatan Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi, family members Col. R K Sharma and Mrs. Sharma, Mrs. Tanvi Sharma, Mr. Pursharth Mahajan, Mr. Akshat Sharma and Mrs. Kanika Sharma. Teaching and non-teaching staff members gathered to celebrate Dr. Bhargava’s contribution to the institution and to pay tribute to her legacy. Mrs. Suman Mahajan, Registrar, then read a letter of appreciation received from the office of the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. Mr. Gandhar formally presented this letter to Dr. Bhargava, recognising her years of dedicated service. Thereafter, ‘Prashasti Patra,’ a college-issued letter of commendation, acknowledging Dr. Bhargava’s immense contributions and the respect she commands within the college community, was read out.
