Hemant shared that the championship featured top young boxers from around the world, with 19 Indian athletes competing across different weight categories. In the final, Hemant faced Rishon Sims from the USA and triumphed with a 4-1 victory, securing the Under-19 World Champion title.

Chandigarh, November 17 – “To change the meaning of politics, one must undergo rigorous dedication. That is what I am doing. I will neither engage in wrongdoings nor support those who do. In my view, public service is national service, and I will not tolerate any negligence in this regard. In the next five years, the state government will completely revamp the government schools in the state.”
These remarks were made by the Haryana School Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister, Mr. Mahipal Dhanda during his visit to 10 villages in the Panipat Rural Assembly constituency today. He appealed to the people of the area to educate their children and equip them with the skills to contribute to the service of the nation.
Mr. Dhanda said that improving education in rural areas and transforming the sector is a key priority. “My entire life is dedicated to the service of rural people, and I am walking this path to serve them. It may take some time to fix the system, but in the end, the results will be very positive,” he added. He urged the villagers to admit their children to government schools, assuring them that the government guarantees good results.
He said that the state government is committed to realizing the dreams of the rural population. We are focusing on development for every section of society. The policies of both the central and state governments are giving a boost to development. The National Education Policy (NEP) is such a policy that will provide regular employment opportunities for youth graduating with degrees and diplomas from institutions.
The Minister said that the National Education Policy will be implemented in Haryana next year. He also explained the benefits of the new policy and appealed for public support. “Basic amenities are being provided in all schools,” he added. “We are ensuring the safety of women and giving them equal respect in all areas.”

Chandigarh November 17- Justice Bhushan R. Gavai, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority today elaborated the critical role of legal services in empowering marginalized communities and ensuring social justice. He said that Article 39A is of immense significance, as it guarantees the right to free legal aid for the voiceless, marginalized, and vulnerable sections of society, ensuring access to justice for those who might otherwise be deprived of it.

Justice Bhushan R. Gavai shared these views during the Regional Conference of the State Legal Services Authorities, themed "Empowering the Marginalized and a Step Towards Social Justice," organised at the Chandigarh Judicial Academy here today. He also shed light on the plight of undertrial prisoners, outlining the efforts by Legal Services Authorities to provide timely and effective legal representation.

Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Himachal Pradesh; and Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh also graced the occasion with their presence.

Justice B R Gavai elaborated on significant initiatives, including NALSA's Standard Operating Procedures for legal aid clinics in prisons, which ensure that prisoners are aware of and exercise their legal rights. He also discussed innovative programs such as the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System and campaigns targeting juvenile justice and rehabilitation. He urged for collective efforts to strengthen legal aid mechanisms and uphold the dignity, equality, and rights of all citizens, particularly those most vulnerable.

During the Regional Conference, the "Scheme of Victim Care and Support System" was officially launched, underscoring a significant step in providing holistic care to victims of crime. Additionally, a dedicated video focused on drug awareness was unveiled to highlight the importance of addressing substance abuse issues. An innovative app was also introduced, aimed at streamlining access to legal services and resources, ensuring greater reach and efficiency in delivering justice and support to those in need.

During the Conference, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Sheel Nagu expressed a warm greeting to the assembled dignitaries, highlighting the pivotal role of the Legal Services Authorities across Punjab, Haryana, and U.T. Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Tarlok Singh Chauhan elaborated on the multifaceted legal initiatives underway in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

Justice Surya Kant asseted the importance of empowering children, describing them as one of the most vulnerable groups in Indian society. Drawing on alarming statistics about child rights violations, malnourishment, and the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, he urged a collective focus on ensuring their safety, education, and holistic development. He also touched upon critical issues like child labor, children awaiting adoption, and the unique challenges faced by children of migrant workers, advocating for systemic reforms to protect their rights.

Chandigarh, November 17 – Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that providing canal water to farmers' fields is her top priority. In addition, she is committed to making every effort to ensure drinking water is available to every household. An agreement has been signed with WAPCOS, an undertaking of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, for the Gurgaon Water Supply Channel and Mewat Feeder Pipeline Project to supply drinking water to the Gurugram, Bahadurgarh, and Mewat areas.
The Minister said this during a meeting with Chief Engineer Mr. Virendra Kumar and other officials of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department yesterday evening regarding the WAPCOS projects.
In a presentation by WAPCOS, the Minister was informed that the organization provides technical assistance and advisory services in tender management for water resources, power, and infrastructure development projects across many African and European countries. WAPCOS is also involved in projects in Telangana.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have already been signed with the Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Department for the Gurgaon Water Supply Channel and Mewat Feeder Pipeline Project. The estimated cost of the Gurgaon Water Supply Channel Project is Rs. 1,989.40 crore, and it will require 686.40 cusecs of water to meet the expected demand for drinking water by 2050. Similarly, the Mewat Feeder Pipeline Project is expected to cost Rs. 386.05 crore. Both projects are scheduled to be completed by WAPCOS by 2027. The Public Health Engineering Department, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, and Haryana Urban Development Authority are the key stakeholders in these projects.
The Minister has instructed officials to visit Telangana to study the Telangana model. She herself also plans to visit Telangana to observe the model firsthand.

Chandigarh, November 17 – Haryana Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, said that the state government is working with dedication to rapidly improve health services related to animal husbandry. Additionally, services will be expanded in pet hospitals to ensure better care for pet dogs.
The Animal Husbandry Minister was speaking at the inauguration of a dog show in Panchkula today.
Mr. Rana said that the state government will also formulate a comprehensive plan for stray dogs to ensure proper management and welfare. He assured that there will be no shortage of funds for the welfare and health improvement of animals, and the department will receive funding based on its needs.
Before the dog show, the Minister inaugurated the Pets Ophthalmology Centre at the Pet Hospital. The new facility will offer specialized services for treating various eye problems in pets. He also visited the X-ray centre and the dog hostel at the facility.
The dog show, held at the "Pet Animal Medical Centre" in Sector 3, Panchkula, was attended by special guests, including Dr. Lal Chand Ranga, Director General of the department, and Dr. R.N. Chaudhary, Head of Surgery at LUVAS Hisar.
Dr. Ranjit Singh, Deputy Director of the department and in charge of the Dog Centre, mentioned that this is the 6th dog show organized this year.

The Minister announced the upcoming Maruti plant in Kharkhoda and the development of a 3,300-acre industrial township near Kharkhoda. *National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination Held*
Chandigarh, November 17 – The Haryana Board of School Education, Bhiwani, successfully conducted the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) examination today. The exam was held smoothly and without any incidents of cheating at 167 centers across the state. A total of 48,543 candidates received admit cards for the exam, including 19,125 male students, 29,415 female students, and 3 transgender students. The examination was conducted between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
A spokesperson for the Board said that to maintain the integrity, credibility, and dignity of the exam, a district-level flying squad was formed in each district. These squads conducted surprise inspections of the exam centers, ensuring that the exam was being conducted fairly and peacefully. Additionally, District Education Officers also inspected the exam centers in their respective districts, where the exam was being held smoothly.
The spokesperson further said that the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) examination is run by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi. The main objective of this scheme is to select meritorious yet economically disadvantaged students from government and government-aided schools and promote their educational development. Students selected under this scheme are awarded a monthly scholarship for classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th.
