MAHENDERGARH, 28.11.24-Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has started the '5G Use Case Lab' developed by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, supported by the Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, inaugurated the lab on Thursday, 28th November 2024, in the presence of Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar and Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology (SoET), Prof. Phool Singh.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar congratulated to Head of Department Prof. Rakesh Kumar for establishing this lab in short duration of time. This lab is amongst one of the 100 ‘5G Use Cases Labs’ awarded by The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi during the Indian Mobile Congress 2023. The lab. is equipped with high end equipments like Dell Server of 5G Core & NMS, Dell Server of MEC, Firewall, Ethernet Switch, Radio, Evaluation Board, 5G AI Camera, AjnaXR SE, CPE (Customer Provided Equipment), IoT Gateway, 5G Drone and IOT Sensor Box.
Vice-chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that this is the beginning of new 5G era in Central University of Haryana. This lab in the University will help all the students of CUH and its vicinity for Global Digital Innovation. Through this lab in educational institutions, young talents, MSMEs and groups of teachers will jointly get opportunities to come together on one platform for technological development and develop new technologies. He also welcomed the use of this newly developed lab. by the students/researchers/faculty of the nearby institutes. Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Suneel Kumar mentioned that this 5G usecase lab will encourage the development and innovation of information technology in the fields of education, agriculture, health, energy and transportation etc. for the social and economic development of India.
Dean of SoET Prof. (Dr.) Phool Singh mentioned that it is a matter of great pride that CUH is one of the two institutes in Haryana who have established this 5G Usecase Lab. Head of Department Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar said that the basic objective of this Lab. is to promote new research in accordance with Indian and global needs at the level of development of 5G technology and various applications related to it. He said that this effort will not only be helpful in the development of 5G technology but will also be helpful in creating a 6G friendly environment at the educational and startup level. Through this effort, Indian based technological development will definitely get a boost which will also be useful in terms of national security. Faculty, staff and students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering expressed their gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of the university. For setting up the 5G Usecase Lab Head of Department Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar also appreciated the efforts of Executive Engineer Sh. Mukesh Kumar for establishing this lab.
