Chief Minister reviews works of various departments

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reviewed the developmental projects and construction works of Public Works, Education and Health and Family Welfare Department here today.

He directed the officers to complete the construction of those projects on priority, on which more than 80 percent of work has been done as soon as possible and also directed the Public Works Department to rationalize the fees of tender forms. He also gave necessary guidelines while reviewing the works of other departments.

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary Finance Dr. Abhishek Jain, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, OSD to Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, senior officers of Health and Family Welfare, Public Works and Education Department were present in the meeting.

Master plan for the beautification of temples: CM

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while chairing a review meeting of the Art, Language and Culture Department here today stated that a master plan would be prepared for the beautification of the premises of Baba Balak Nath, Mata Shree Chintpurni, Shree Naina Devi and Maa Jwalaji Temples to facilitate the devotees by providing them with world-class facilities. This will also encourage religious tourism as well.

The Chief Minister said that from the next financial year, 'District level Festivals' would be organized in all the districts. At least one cultural evening will be reserved for local artists in these fairs and festivals. A provision would be made to spend 33 percent of the total expenditure on local artists. He also asked to fix the honorarium of the artists and rationalize the honorarium.

Sh. Sukhu said that 107 fairs have been notified by the State Government, which includes four international level, five national level, 29 state level and 69 district-level fairs. In the financial year 2024-25, the state government has provided an assistance grant of Rs 1.10 crore for organizing these fairs.

He said that the work of setting up a digital museum at Bantony Castle in Shimla will be completed this year and directed to develop the 'International Roerich Memorial Trust' from the tourism point of view. The Chief Minister also did a detailed review of the schemes being implemented by the department.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, OSD to the Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, Director Language and Culture Dr. Pankaj Lalit and senior officers were present in the meeting.

CM Congratulates Boxing Gold medalists

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated Avinash Jamwal resident of Mandi district for winning the gold medal in National Boxing Championship held at Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said that Avinash Jamwal has brought laurels to the State and he was an inspiration for budding players.

Avinash Jamwal has also been declared the best boxer in this championship.
