Chandigarh, January 22, 2025-University of Fraser Valley, Canada and Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh have principally agreed to have joint degree program. The agreement was reached at a meeting of University of Fraser Valley, Canada delegation with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig and other authorities at PU. University of Fraser Valley, Canada is a leading Public University in British Columbia of Canada.

A delegation comprising Dr. Peter Geller, Director Transnational Education, Dr. Daryl Smith, Director International and Mr. Tushar Gajwani, Assistant Director from University of Fraser Valley (UFV), Canada today visited Panjab University. A meeting regarding joint/dual degree programs was held with Professor Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Professor Yojna Rawat, Director Research & Development, Professor Sanjeev Sharma, Director IQAC, Professor Kewal Krishan, Dean International Students Panjab University, Chandigarh.

During the meeting, Professor Kewal Krishan, Dean International Students welcomed the delegates and started discussion. Professor Sanjeev Sharma, Director, IQAC gave a power point presentation highlighting the achievements and strengths of the Panjab University.

Deliberations were made to initiate Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral programs in business management in collaboration with UFV under dual/joint degree scheme at Panjab University Campus. The nitty-gritties of the process of executing the dual degree programme between the two universities were discussed in detail.

It was informed that Panjab University already started dual degree programme with Nottingham Trent University, UK, and Yokohama National University, Japan in various disciplines and a similar model can be adopted to start dual degree programme with University of Fraser Valley to avoid financial complications arising out of currency exchange and Government policies.

Mr. Tushar Gajwani assured the members to submit a detailed draft in this regard within a week’s time. Professor Renu Vig and Professor Yojna Rawat encouraged dual/joint degree programs with their vision of overseas employment opportunities for the Indian students.
