MAHENDERGARH, 27.02.25-Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh in collaboration with Directorate of Science and Technology (DST), organised two days' events on the occasion of National Science Day commenced on Thursday. Event started with the science exhibition, based on the theme 'Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for a Viksit Bharat'. This science exhibition exhibits notable works, research and innovations by various departments of CUH and local schools. In the inaugural session Prof. Maithili Sharan from IIT, Delhi was the chief guest along with the Vice Chancellor of CUH, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar. On this occasion, Registrar of the University, Prof. Suneel Kumar; first lady of the University, Prof. Sunita Srivastava' Dean of Research, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma were also present.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that such events are indicative of the University's progress. He praised the way various departments presented their achievements and emphasized that the participation of local school teams in presenting their models reflected the growing interest in science and innovation among school students. Prof. Kumar expressed that the event would certainly help in the development of practical learning among students. He also highlighted the special focus of this year’s event on the art of science teaching and stated that the competition would help educators develop new ways to impart scientific knowledge to students.
Prof. Maithili Sharan, along with the Vice-Chancellor, observed the models presented by the schools and various university departments. He said that such events are sure to enhance participants' understanding of science and make it more accessible to the public. During the event, Prof. Sharan gave a lecture on 'Research Opportunities in Mathematical Sciences' and explained how one could benefit from the opportunities available in this field.
Prof. A.K. Yadav and Prof. Vinod Kumar, convenors shared that the first day of the two-day event saw competitions in various categories, including Wonders of Innovation, Painting, Speech, Quiz, Departmental Exhibitions, and the Innovative Science Teaching Contest. On February 28, the National Science Day celebration will feature a Science Show titled "Science Behind Miracles" and "Liquid Nitrogen Show," organized in collaboration with the National Science Centre, New Delhi. Winners in various categories will be awarded prizes in valedictory session of the event.
