CHANDIGARH, 11.03.25-The Personality Development Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a session titled ‘Just Hired: Mastering Resume and Interviews’. The session was conducted by Ms. Hanspreet Kaur, a renowned corporate trainer and distinguished alumna of the institution. Ms. Kaur provided valuable insights on resume writing, interview techniques and effective communication. She explained the different types of resumes, including functional and combination formats, and guided students on selecting the most suitable format based on their experience and career goals. She also introduced students to the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), emphasising the importance of using relevant keywords, proper formatting, and clear structuring to ensure resumes pass through automated screening. Additionally, she shared common resume mistakes and provided tips on crafting compelling summaries, skill sections, and accomplishment-based bullet points to enhance visibility. The interactive Q&A segment allowed students to seek personalised guidance on career-related queries. The session was highly appreciated by both students and faculty.
