Chandigarh, March 21:- After stern action taken by Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, the Engineer wing of MCC swung into action to check anomalies in the parking sites throughout city.

Following the directions of Commissioner, the Chief Engineer, MCC, Sh. Sanjay Arora accompanied by Superintending Engineer (B&R) made surprise checks in the parking sites, near kiran cinema, sector 22 and opposite sector 17 bus stand parking lot at sector 22, Chandigarh. During the inspection the team checked all aspects of parking fee regulations.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Commissioner made surprise check in the parking site at sector 17 on 19th March and found non compliance with parking fee regulations, following which one Junior Engineer was suspended and concerned Executive Engineer and Sub Divisional Engineer of B&R wing were served show cause notice to explain their position within three days positively as to why the supervision and monitoring of attendants of parking staff not performing their duty properly.

The Commissioner directed all the concerned officers involved in running the paid parking sites falling under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh to adopt full compliance with the parking fee regulations. He further warned that any official or officer found showing lack of supervision in their part will invite strict action against them.
