Chandigarh, March 24:- The first meeting of the Road Committee of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Dalip Sharma. The meeting was attended by other committee members, including Sh. Rajinder Singh, Smt. Sarabjit Kaur, Sh. Gurcharanjit Singh, Smt. Suman Devi, Sh. Manaur, and Sh. Naresh Panchal, along with concerned officials of the Municipal Corporation.

Key Decisions Taken during the meeting:

Regular Inspections of Roads and Paver Blocks:
Committee members decided to conduct regular visits with concerned area councilors to inspect and address issues related to paver blocks and damaged road gullies.

Encroachment Removal from V-4 & V-5 Road Berms:
It was resolved that encroachments on V-4 and V-5 road berms will be removed within 15 days with the assistance of the enforcement team.

Urgent Road Repair and Paver Block Work:
The committee directed the preparation of estimates up to ₹25 lakh for urgent recarpeting of roads and paver block works, which will be presented in the next meeting for approval.

The committee emphasized swift action on these resolutions to improve road infrastructure and enhance public convenience.
