CHANDIGARH, 11.04.25-As the golden mustard blossoms swayed and marigolds adorned the staff corner of the college library, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, hosted the fourth edition of Suniye Sunaiye on a beautiful spring morning. The storytelling initiative, aimed at rekindling the art of reading, listening, and reflection, once again brought together students, faculty, and guests in a shared literary experience.
The session was graced by guests CA Ankur Sharma, and CA Rajan Aghinotri who added to the warmth and vibrancy of the gathering. With a diverse range of readings spanning from industrialisation to philosophy, history to poetry, the event offered a deeply enriching discourse that left the audience inspired and contemplative. With readings including work of Charlotte Brontë, Many Lives of Syeda X by Neha Dixit, Hard Times by Charles Dickens, North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, and The Forest of Enchantments by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, the session was a beautiful confluence of literature, philosophy, history, and self-expression, each reading and discussion adding new layers of understanding to the audience’s collective experience.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma expressed appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Library Committee to keep this tradition alive, ensuring that the art of listening and reading remains a cherished part of the college’s intellectual and cultural fabric.
