CHANDIGARH, 26.11.25-The Department of Law, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, organized a special programme on the occasion of Constitution Day. Prof. V. K. Agarwal, Pro- Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur graced the event as the Chief Guest, while the programme was presided over by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma. In his message, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the Constitution is not merely a legal document but a guiding force for nation-building. He urged students to uphold democratic values and contribute responsibly to society.
The programme commenced with floral tributes to the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, installed on the University campus. The Chief Guest, Prof. Agarwal, delivered an insightful academic lecture highlighting the fundamental spirit of the Constitution and its contemporary relevance. He emphasized that 26 November is a historic day, marking the adoption of the Indian Constitution. Acknowledging Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as the principal architect of the Constitution, he noted that the vision of Viksit Bharat can be achieved only through effective implementation of the rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution and by enhancing public awareness about them.
As part of the celebration, the Preamble of the Constitution was collectively recited, reaffirming the commitment of participants to constitutional values. Students also presented various cultural performances depicting India’s democratic ethos. During the programme, winners of competitions held under “We the People Week–2025” were honoured with awards and certificates.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma extended greetings on Constitution Day and appreciated the Department of Law for organizing an informative and inspiring programme. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, he said that Prof. Agarwal’s presence and insights would be greatly beneficial to the participants. Prof. Sharma also highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution and its Preamble, emphasizing how it ensures dignity and fundamental rights for every citizen.
Prof. Pradeep Singh, Head of the Department said that under the leadership and guidance of the Vice-Chancellor, several events were organized during the past week as part of “We the People Week–2025”, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. The programme was anchored by Dr. Anju, Kashif, and Jyoti. The event was attended by Dr. Samiksha Godara, Dr. D.P.S. Poonia, Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh, Mr. Rakesh Meena, along with a large number of students and research scholars. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
